Theres been a lot of talk about newbies lately and i was just wondering when did you feel like you stopped being a newbie.
When you had your first meet or social/munch?
When you'd been here a certain amount of time?
When you'd made a certain amount of posts?
Or something else
Weve not been here too long, but i already dont feel like a newbie anymore. For me its a mixture of things, had a few meets, feel welcomed into the forum and got a social coming up ( cant wait ) :thrilled: . So what made you feel like your not a newbie, or do you still feel like one and what do you think would make you feel like part of the furniture?.

I think it's a decision you make yourself, when you feel "at home"
When I first joined here, I lurked for quite a while, but when I finally plucked up the courage to start posting I felt at home very quickly.
Having siad that, the forum had a different feel back then. lol
Hope you enjoy your first social. Come back and tell us how you got on (said in best Cilla voice)

I agree with the lovely Horny One ( snogs babes passionkiss )
I lurked for a while and when I did start posting, I felt welcomed quite fast..........or should that be felt UP fast? confused
As I'm still yet to do a munch ( :scared: ) I still feel a little like a newbie but I've been to a few socials and been made very welcome indeed. That might have just been the cleavage but who knows? dunno

When you're made to feel welcome by those who have been here a while... and when you are into the :swingingchair: of things
we will be newbies forever!! we use it as an excuse if we ever say anything stupid (which we very often do) lol

I feel that too; although I am a newbie. The other day we were in the same room and all we managed to say was 'hello'. I guess I assumed you were confident in the chatrooms like everybody else and so felt stupid saying anything. redface
Next time I'll try to say more. smile
I recommend people try the 'forum chat' -- this is a chat room where people actually talk!

Sometimes im confident in the chatrooms, but that all depends on the feel that i get of the room itself. Im sorry if i didnt manage to say alot to you when we crossed paths the other day but sometimes i do like to have a bit of a perv, so dont notice anything else going on. surprisedops:

hehehe... I 'stopped' being a newbie when a certain wench traveled 50 miles in the freezing snow to sample me pork chops!
But hell... I think I & everybody else is are still a newbies coz we ain't met yet!
I still have a list o peeps I wanna snog & buy a pint with... or both! biggrin
When this stops being fun...
then & only then will I no longer be a newbie
Long live the newbies! I say

I was about to say "Bloody hell, you two, get a room".....but you already have lol

sLeeper is a newbie so he can get his hand held when he goes to munches.
I wasn't a newbie but I am again smile
For me I felt I was no longer a newbie when people started quoting me/refering to my posts, and at munches saying 'hello again' rather than 'hello who are you'
i have chatted to plenty of people, via chatroom, forums, pm or at munches, i have got myself to the point where i feel i am accepted, and welcome, i feel i belong, i feel out of my depth, but because im not treated like im new, i guess thats one of the reasons why i stay
I like being a newbie...... lol
Why don't you have a 'break in a newbie' month. Make as many newbies feel as welcome as possible and the person who does the most wins a cookie.
Ha yes, we don't feel like a newbies anymore. Had a meet, a party, a social and some pretty horny cyber dealings so there you go...we are not newbies anymore I have offically decided. Up to 160 posts or something...I think we're settled here. cool

You're not are you :eeek:
:giggle:
I just knew you would be along to make a comment flipa :giggle:
I ve been on SH for 5/6 months, most of time I ve spent in the chatrooms. And I feel I am no longer a newbie there.
But as you can see I don't post very offen in the forums (this is only 2nd post!) so I am very much a newbie here.
I have had my first social, saturday just gone and I am going to the Nottingham social. I ll still be a newbie when I go to that one but I think by the end of it I don't think I ll be a social newbie anymore.
Think what it comes down to is putting yourself out and really talk to people whether its here, in a chatroom or at a social.
