Afternoon all
I have noticed a recent trend and increase in the amount of 'newbies' asking many questions and carrying out surveys. confused
This could of course be completely innocent.
However, being the sceptic that I am, I just cannot help but wonder if this is the Press or similar organisation using this site as a resource for info regarding the 'swinging scene' as it is blatantly a hot topic for the media currently.
Any thoughts???
Dx
Hmmmm never thought of it like that. I just assumed they were nosy buggers! :P
actually being a sceptic... i was thinking exactly the same thing... biggrin :D
especailly when mark said that any media requests are put straight in the bin........

dammit maybe i'm naive too. well actually i know i'm naive, so no reply needed on that! lol i never clicked on to that. there's been the odd post where that's been pointed out, and i've wondered. surely there's an entire back catalogue of threads that yer NOTW reporter could do an instant search on, like "dogging at buckingham palace" or something, and get summat right tasty out of, and possibly the cafe's the last place i'd come for a shock horror expose. but maybe i'm naive again. i haven't thought about it, and give what i think are honest questions from toe-dippers honest replies. hhhhhmmmmm! you really do have me thinking about it now . . . . .
n x x x x x ;-)
I could be completely wrong but the amount and frequency that these thread's were appearing at set a small alarm off in my head.
Threds such as 'Whats you most disappointing swinging experience' - sounds abit too much like an interview question to me.
Who know's maybe someone from a trashy womens magazine might be using the answers to build an 'interview style' article titled 'My swinging horrors' or 'How swinging saved my marriage' etc etc...... rolleyes
If that is the case I have probably just given the slimey hack a couple of good titles...!!
I would love to hear from the authors of these threads - hopefully to prove me wrong.
Dx
If however this is true.
How do we go about extracting royalties from those responsible for our expose´
Just in case you're wondering...
My topic 'Is some swinging a type of polyamoury (swiftly falling off the end of the page as I type) is sheer curiousity on my part.
I am here as a member of the public, interested in polyamoury, but on Mrs phil_osophers advice looking into swinging, coz it doesn't look like polyamoury has a snowballs chance in hell in tha UK.
I'm not a journalist - hate the buggers, in fact!
I would actually be suprised if they actually ever did surveys? I am sure most of the stuff they print is absolute bollox anyhows. If you actually read many papers, you will find the same stories in each, just edited. I mean how many read the sport and believe that tosh? I think the papers should have on the front page...ONCE UPON A TIME, and at the back..AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Quick to give someone a high aka rooney the wonderchild of footie, now a sleasy sex monster into call girls, and the golden paula radcliffe, once a demigoddess in our dreams, now a quitter, and Kelly Holmes is all over now, until they find some juicy crap to smear.
Maybe the surveys are a way to tread the water, and finding the right words is bloody hard. If you have EVER tried to raise a few topics, you will see the problems. many bemoan the lack of input, and many dont start them because no one wants to see it drop ff the page with no replies...like bill no mates. Better to swim than sink?

I have never had a problem raising topics - and if I did raise one that nobody liked (ahem) then so be it!!!! wink

It may be my evil sense of humour but I've often wondered about putting a completely nonsensical 'story' onto a website and then waiting to see if it appeared in the national press.
The press? Don't talk to me about the ptess!
The Sport took my 'vixpix' story and broke it, without asking or making a donation to my charity, nor did they include a url to my charity site or to the MSRC who I fundraise for. Printed a full page pic lifted from the web - we would have supplied hi-res if they'd asked - and subsequently, none of the others were interested in covering the campaign, thus scuppering the chance of getting more money for the charity.
The womens magazines invented quotes and published my full name, despite my specific request not to.
The phone calls from the press were unending and I had a row with the Trisha Show (I did not wanna be on it) Channel 4 cut my hair off and dyed it purple, on live TV.
If anyone gets a 'friendly offer' from anyone in the media.... RUN AWAY unless you want everything about yourself misrepresented.
I know I was courting publicity for the charity, but I would have appreciated some honesty.
Hi people, ive asked a couple of questions, but only thru being interested, you see me for real at the notts munch

We`re newbies as well and definately not press.
I think if they really wanted to get a story they`d go to a club or party.
We`re like buses or policemen, ya don`t see one for ages then all of a sudden....
every twat has got the same car ya just bought.
hope my question on first experiences hasnt been a problem, just curious of what to expect should we get the chance to go to a party. i can understand the feelings towards this now as you do seem to read, see on tv more about it. also thought it might of been a better way to say hi to people rather than the usual hi my names........ after running my own website (not on swinging) once you get a lot of members u dont always get time/feel like posting hi to the new ones.
just my two cents though.

We are not press either, I have asked a couple of questions.
I think there are far more explicit sites they would go for, we are here having just a quiet chat lol

Hi Surrey Couple...
Hope you're both well. Love the pics on the ads.
Had no idea there would be so many timewasters in our presence. It's just frustrating that as "newbies" it's difficult to establish yourselves amid the cynicism (did i spell that right?)
I know you're probably sceptical of us too (We're the Brazilian-Englsh combo) but you must admit whie we want to respect the etiquette and learn the lingo it can be easily interpretted as blagging.
This can be so frustating but only serves to fuel our determination. We would have long since abandoned this site if we didn't trust the vast majority of its contributors! Recipricated trust in genuine newbies would be a great bonus.
Hope the do goes well. Feel free to reply the PM and keep us posted for the next.
J and F xx
As a newbie and a culprit of the press esq topics, i do appologise i am just curious and an inquisitive person, i was just wondering how swinging works, as i would like to do it but dont know what to do, so i thought i would just ask a few ice breakers to try and gain recognition and also learn something.
So thats me......
Good afternoon All
Gosh.......
Now I'm feeling guilty.
I do apologise to all of you out there that I may have upset by suggesting that you might be scum sucking, baby eating, slime oozing, worthless hacks.......
