to those that actually manage it... I keep quitting and then starting and then quitting and on and on... Patches were good - no dreams though as took patch off when going to bed - money jar idea was really good 'cos you see that cash build up quickly before your eyes - but alas, the willpower is weak... Anyway, as they say "never give up giving up..."

As said by someone earlier, you don't normally smoke when your asleep. Nicotine being a neurotransmitter, its not suprising that there would be such effects.
I was told by lecturers that wearing the patches while asleep gave people "nightmares". Nobody told me they would give me wet dreams

Having gone through the whole smoking cessation thingummy at my local doctor's practice, I can tell you that if you advised to wear the patch at night - then do it!
The patches are slow-release so if they are 24 hour patches then wear em for 24 hours! However, they should also be used in such a way that treats your condition. What I mean is, if you, like me, always crave a fag first thing in the morning, then wearing the patch overnight will help to combat this. If you are more of a wind-down in teh evening smoker then wear it during the day.
I found the gum made me feel bloated and sickly and gave up on that quite quickly. The patches do work, but believe quitting the fags is like any addiction - its down to you. You have to be mentally ready for it. Knowing you should quit is not the same as really wanting to and being ready to do it.
