Need a bit more info really or you could suggestions anywhere from Blackpool to Budapest!
I think Leeds is a top night out but it's down to personal choice really.
Used to love Manchester when I lived there and I understand Newcastle is good - but again, it depends what kind of night you're after, really.

right I want to be within an hour of wakefield area, budget not a problem I dont think, I mean your only 30 the once

been to leeds before and although enjoyed it want to go somewhere different, Ive suggested blackpool to my mates but they not keen

well speaking as someone who lives in halifax.....i'd say go to leeds
or huddersfield even, so much nicer than halifax.
halifax is small, lots of pubs but not many are very good quality. in fact, very few
theres not a classy bar in sight. and clubs? yeah, if you like sticky carpets, underage drinkers or mass brawls!
huddersfield is only a stones throw from halifax but it has that lively, modern, feel to it - which probably comes from it being a popular university town i imagine. if i wanted a night of dancing, drinking amd laughing, id go to huddersfield :thumbup:

edited to say that its not where you go, its who you are with is the most important thing to consider

im getting old and boring tho, prefer a night in at home with good company or a quiet drink down me aunties pub!

As has already been said before - DON'T GO TO HALIFAX!
We have a gymnastics comp there every year, and I'm always of the opinion that you could be in any wee town in Britain, there's nothing that sets it apart.
The bars are all your typical wetherspoons style chain bar, same everywhere, cheap, sticky floor, non-descript, the clubs are full of your usual shitty music and underagers, tacky stag n hen nights...
