no apologies - chatroom access problems

Since I had some time this afternoon, I decided to spend it trying to get into the chatroom. However, as usual, failed miserably after nearly 3 hours! OK, so some of you may say I'm lacking upstairs! But I've done everything suggested, including downloading mIRc and following those instructions. Managed to find a room where I talked to myself - which can be quite amusing at times, but didn't want to do that today!. Am I going mad? sad

im the same walnut but when ever you ask for help you get some smug reply saying you should learn to read or something like that im dyslexic and im not teckie at all not everyone is born a pc geek , id love to see some peeps in here paint a canvas which is something i am good at which they wouldnt have a clue at doing were all good at different things id love to get into the chat room because then it would keep my away from the toss bags on , for once ive found a site that i really love theres some brill ppl on here and would love to get to chat instead of pms which im crap at ..rant over x rache x

I'm so pleased to see others posting about this problem. I too had trouble getting into the chat room yesterday and posted asking for help , with varying degrees of assistance from members, ranging from very helpful to unhelpful sarcasm.
I know there is a 'chatroom help section' but I for one didn't find it helpful in the least and I'm obviously not the only one judging by the posts over the last few days. It might prove productive for the 'help section' to be re-written in a more user friendly - idiot guide type way. I dont consider myself an idiot and I'm sure many others don't either, but did find it very hard to understand. as a newbie to SH.

I can't help personally cos the chatroom is not a place I frequent but I suggest you ask for help in the correct place (not meant to be sarcastic at all). This is a quote from the chatroom page.. the bit in red is my highlighting and should help send you to the chatroom helproom!

How do I register to use the chatroom?
In order to join the Swinging Heaven Chatroom you have to be using a registered NickName and Password. This is seperate from the Photo Ads and the Forum, so don't try to use your login for those on the chatroom. No, you have to register using the simple 5 step guide shown at the bottom of the chatroom page here.
If you have read and followed the registration instructions carefully, and you still can't get in, try loading up the chatroom and selecting the 'SHhelp' channel from the drop-down Channel window, and press 'Connect Now!'. This will take you to a room which does not require registration to join, as it's there specifically to help you get registered for the Swinging Heaven Chatroom. The only chat allowed in #SHhelp is regarding registration help. We can't guarantee someone will be in there to help, but it's worth giving it a go,because there should/might be!

Any chance of some feedback whilst it's still fresh in your mind? Now that you know how it's done you may be able to point out where the guidelines are very hard to understand? Where were you going wrong?
