As anyone who knows me/us will know I am the only half of this couple that posts on the forums. Since the site changed, no, I haven't bothered to update our profile, or submitted any more ads....why?
Several reasons....
1. Lazyness - There have been a lot of changes in the last six months and I really can't be bothered with all the form filling involved.
2. Influx of PM's - by not filling out our profile we seem to have avoided the influx of oneliner PM's that have P'd off so many other regular forum users (thats NOT an invitation to make me a PM victim of the week btw )
3. Privacy - No I'm no so naive to think that there hasn't always been reporters lurking, and I also know that there will be reporters lurking on other sites that I use, but, SH does have a high media profile. For that reason I don't give many details of our identity away on this site.
4. Change in dynamics of the site - Several months ago, we discussed between the two of us, how we felt about the change in this site. On the back of that conversation we decieded to concentrate on attending meets arranged elsewhere. This is mainly to do with having a limited budget and the cost involved with attending muches, where we feel the most comfortable in making contacts for future play. Again due to a limited budget we will probably be unable to take part in this site once the chargeing comes in...if we start stepping away now, it won't be as much of a wrench having to say goodbye at the end of the year :cry: By not having details on our profile I think that helps to put accross the message that we are NOT looking to be contacted.
Although we are no longer meeting new people through this site I don't think we/ I have any less rights than anyone else to continue to take part in the Forums. I/we have made friends from this site, mainly from Munches we have attended. We will continue to see those members. We just have no plans to go out of our way to meet any more people from this site for reasons mentioned above.

We've been on here well over a year now, and to be honest it has taken a lot of time to get our confidence etc up enough to start going into chat, and the forums... At the moment our pics are very basic but we hope to rectify that one soon :P
We don't overly mind if someone doesn't put anything in their profiles, but anyone who doesn't will have to acknowledge that people WILL be wary of them... its happened to us, people are a little more wary until they know us better and certainly with the amount we have had in the past on the profile thats understandable...
Where we have the problem is when someone tries to continually push themselves at you, a very big part of this for us (and I'm sure most will agree) has to be TRUST, and that needs to be earnt... you have to be confident first with who you're with and then with anyone else involved, even going dogging this will come into effect, anyone being too pushy or rowdy will simply scare couples etc away and to be honest thats all I can say to people, take it slowly, go at their pace and MAYBE, just maybe something will come of it...
Even if it doesn't we've had such fun on the site by relaxing and enjoying ourselves and look forward to much more....

Whether you should be here or not? Well, the front page does say that this site is for 'swingers' so, in theory, the answer should be no. However, do we really want to tell anyone, if they enjoy posting here, that they have no right to be here? I shouldn't think so :shock:
I think it's fair enough to use the site which ever way you want to, however, I've been noticing that approximately one fifth of the number of people on line at any one time are using the chat room and arround a fifth of that number use the forum.
(These are approximations, but I have been keeping an eye on the numbers. 5,000 online: 1,000 chat: 200 in forum)
From these figures many of the people who use the site never even come in here or use the chat rooms, they simply use the ads. Now, there is nothing wrong with this but many of them have nothing in their profile, no ads and no pics. Yet they reply to ads, usually with a oneliner; are they just killing time? or are they actually expecting a response, and if not, why bother?
I realise that this was the initial question raised, I think I'm just clarifying maybe.

Yes, you have a point, many of the daft PM's we receive are from people who never appear in here or (to our knowledge) in the chatroom either. Still, just delete them and move on, guess there's no point in worrying about it too much?

For now you'll find that we have a swingers photo ads system to help you make contact with like minded people. Here you can attach as many as 3 photos to your ad. There is a swingers forum where members can post messages, links and discuss anything with anyone. This has been put here to help bring a more immediate sense of community to this site, along with our very own swingers chatroom.
The above quote is taken from the front page. It states that the Ads are to help you to make contact with like minded people. It says the forum is to bring a sense of community to the site.
If a person uses the ads to make contact, then they can put any informatiion they want to disclose about themselves in the ad. There is no need to put additional information in their profile if they do not wish to do so.
Just because a person is a swinger it does not mean they want to meet people off THIS site. There are a multitute of ways to meet likeminded people.....other websites, club meets, vanilla friendships which progress into more.
Just because someone is not actively looking are even wanting to meet others from THIS site, doesn't mean they don't have a place in the forum/chat community. After all THIS ISN'T A QUICK SHAG SITE!
There is a diverse mixture of people on this site. Active swingers, newbies looking to find out if they want to turn a fantasy into a reality and also ex-swingers, who no longer swing due to personal or medical reasons but still enjoy being part of the lifestyle.

I agree! There are a few couples here who don't physically swing, for one reason or another, but enjoy being with liberated, tolerant and sexual people. If they contibute to the community, why should anyone take offense over their non swinging ?
