Hypothetical wellies are fine- because hypothetically I look good in rubber.
Rubber clad groupies- you're on Nola!
Who's packing the talc? dunno
Well, Jay - Z was very good...no wonderful.
I just wonder what Noel Gallagher is eating this morning for his Breakfast,
whole massive Humble Pie not a slice but an entire one.
Am glad that Jay - Z did that performance alone as he could of got a number of Artists such as Kanye West, Prince & even Stevie Wonder.
If you didn't get a chance to view the performance:

It starts from 29mins : 30secs into the video.
Warning:
Very Strong Language & Strobe Lights within the performance. Be aware of this when watching.
The very first song of his performance is classic... biggrin
Also have a look at the visuals, the best I've seen nice touch that...especially the Galaxy Universe.
Also something for you to read:

Ohhh....Noel, I still like the first two albums but after that.... confused
Also, it's no longer 1996.

I haven't met Nola... and this weekend I never packed rubber... nor was at Glastonbury...
though I was 'somewhere in a field somewhere in Wiltshire... yeah'
Does Nola demand groupies?

Isn't that the one that includes the line "I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one"? Such respect shown towards women. At that point we switched the channel over to watch something more interesting from the John Peel stage.
I firmly believe Noel G was spot on with his observation about Jay Z.
With the exception of a few gems, it's been one of the weakest Glastonbury's for a long time. Saturday's headline acts were wasted on the shambling Winehouse and Jay Z. There's been some great black acts at Glasto over the years (Skatellites, Solomon Burke and even Eddy Grant today) but Jay Z - not in this book.
Normal headline act service will be resumed next year.

Erm....what's normal confused:
That's the whole point. Hip-Hop sells more than any other type of Music at this current time, so therefore he was correct in being top billing.
The whole 'normal thing' is quite boring & music would never evolve.
I had a friendly argument with a friend, recently.
With the subject being:
Is Notting Hill Carnival losing it's identity, allowing Rock Bands to play within it.
When it's traditions are Caribbean
:?:
My answer is that Carnival is about everyone having a good time & if that means
non - Caribbean Music being given space within it. Then so be it.
As long as the music of the Caribbean still plays a major role within the Carnival.
Also Notting Hill Carnival allows the people of London a chance to release themselves from the 'pressure cooker' that is London, in a postivie friendly manner.
So, if say for example Radiohead or Pearl Jam want to play Notting Hill Carnival & it makes people biggrin or lol or smile
Maybe turns people on to new forms of music, then isn't that a good thing to occur  :?:
Life is just too short, swcpl2005.
According to rumours, next year's Headliners are:
The Fugees
.
Have a read of the below link, good knowladge.

Oh for the days when Glastonbury used to be known as a rock festival

Where did you get this info from? Please provide the link as I am interested in this. As recently as 2005, on Channel 4's Top 50 Best Selling UK artists, Jay Z didn't even feature and the first sign of anything remotely like him was 50 Cent troubling that all important 40th place, registering only 25% of the sales of the likes of Coldplay, Robbie Williams and Dido. Somehow I don't think the situation has changed much since then.
According to rumours, next year's Headliners are:
The Fugees
I wouldn't put your money on that one given that Pras Michel once said "Before I work with Lauryn Hill again, you will have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and Bush in Starbucks having a latte, discussing foreign policies, before there will be a Fugees reunion"
But as you said, life's too short, the sun's out and I have a lawn that needs mowing
Have fun!
if glasto is just a rock festival, then surely people should have a problem with amy winehouse being on the mainstage aswell. she is far from rock...
plus hip hop has been performed at glasto before, admittedly not headlining but that neither here nor there
