Don't do it Lucy. Norwich is as back of beyond as back of beyond can be. lol
If you're there for a week, and the weathers good, would be a shame to miss Norfolks best feature, and you can hire day boats all over the broads by the hour, half day, whatever. Google day boats and you'll find boatyards all over the broads. We went with and an hour from Potter Heigham there's a fab pub by a windmill. Can't miss it.
Cromer's pretty nice for a spin out. Famous for it's crabs ((( confused ))) or so I'm led to believe. ;)
I'll have to ask Gem where else we went, but we loved it down there. Hoping to go back this year.
N x x x ;)
I've been to Norwich... once many moons ago and I had tonsillitis.
They paint their houses pink down there... like a proper baby pink. Tis odd, cute but a bit odd! lol
That's about all I have to say on Norwich except that the canal boats look cool. I'd quite like a holiday on one of those.
Have a good time! kiss
lol thanks for the info Neil, I'll look into it.
Not sure about the boat thing as I'm going to be on my own but the pub by the windmill sounds good wink

Norwich, a fine city (or so the signs on the city limits will tell you)
If you are into your history and architecture then you have the castle museum, the cathedral etc, of relaxing is your thing, there are a couple of riverside bars overlooking the River Wensum (Prince of Wales Road will get you there), there are various shows held at the Theate Royal, so there are a few things to do.
I lived in Norwich many years ago, and a place I still occasionally visit, I'm sure you would find something to appeal.
I was born in Norfolk, and spent a load of time in Norwich.
Lucy I will miss you I get there on the 28th March!!
There is a hugh shopping centre, the castle, and several pubs!!
Cromer
Wroxham
North Norfolk coast all worth a visit for a short time!!
Good luck with the driving! and make sure you pass!!
Thx Essex, sounds like there's loadssss to do and see biggrin

Doh!
Coleman's mustard started in Norwich. There is a Colemans' Mustard Shop with a tiny museum. They sell about 500 different types of mustard with different flavours - like chive etc.
Worth a look. Even if it's only to enjoy a new flavour.
The cathedral is fabulous. And makes it clear that Norwich used to be one of the most important cities in England.
