just curious about how many replies some people get to adverts on here.
I suspect some of the ladies adverts get hundreds.
The reason I got curious was I tried emailing someone on a account.
The email limit on that is 250 meg yet my email bounced as their inbox was full. How many horny people had mailed them I wonder lol.

It's in the process of changing to a 250mb limit. I have had a 250mb on my account for quite a few weeks now, Jax has 2 mb on hers...we both clicked the links to get us 250mb on the same day. At the moment it seems to be luck of the draw, with probably most people still having the 2mb limit. says everyone should have 250mb by the end of the autumn.

Over the year and a bit our ad has been on the site, probably hundreds. How many of those ppl had actually READ our advert before sending (sorry copying and pasting) their reply. Probably not that many. But those that matter have shone through.
As for the 250Mb limit. Could this increase be linked to recently increasing their limit to 100 Mb?

My first account, which I set up 4 years ago but hardly use, now has 250 Mb. My other account, which is use constantly but set up 3 years ago, is still stuck at 2Mb.

I used to have ads in four categories on SH, updated several times a week with pics, but hardly ever got replies. Got a better response to my ad on a different web site, similar text & same pics. Now I only have one ad in one category, purely to allow me to reply to other peoples ads, so don't expect to get any now. That's life as a single male.
Single females tell me however that they can get up to 50 replies a week (not this site though).

i'd imagine they do not need to? the woman definatly have the power in this world and going into that males area seems to me like panning for gold. you have to wade through all the shit in the river.
i was gonna put an ad in there but the ads get knocked off the first page so quickly. and myself i never go past page one. so i imagine others will be the same?

Compared to other sites, SH is very crude in that ads have to be placed into categories. On other sites you would have one ad, but express interest in a number of categories... eg. as a single male, I am interested in single females, couples etc. Obviously this makes for much easier searching.
I think what you have to remember is that this site is free ! And I dont now of another free site on the web.
As a single male I personally wouldnt go to another site for this very reason. Single men dont tend to get many replies to adverts and I dont fancy paying for the privilidge for zero replies.
As has been mentioned within the forum a few times the add section may not be the best place to actually meet people. I have been lucky enuff to have met a couple of single girls via the chat room and as a knock on effect been invited to a few munch/party type things as guests of them. Meeting people face to face at such events has got to be the best way to network, so potential meeting partners can "size you up".
Being a regular poster or chatroom member can sometimes be enuff to get invited to group do's, and I would suggest this route if people are not having any joy thru the adds.
Like many other (non-swinging) chatrooms I have been in, it always seems a case of biding your time and letting people get to know you as a newbie.
I lived in a rough part of Lancashire and it took me 6 months to become "accepted" in my local pub, and I think net sites and chatrooms can be similar (not suggesting this is a rought forum of course *cough)
