***NW Munch III - Update***

Just to keep everybody up to date……………..
The arrangements for the pub have been confirmed and with the number intending to come the owner is happy to close the doors and let us have the pub to ourselves. There will be two guys on the door making sure that we do keep the pub to ourselves so it really is a necessity that you let me know you’re coming.
As usual it’s a free event but to help cover the cost of the buffet, the karaoke/disco, the extra bar staff and the guys on the door we’ll be passing a collection round at some point during the evening. The collection will be purely voluntary and we’re only looking to relieve you of some loose change. We might have to get in quick though before CarrieAnn nicks it all.
We had 134 people at the last NW munch but this time it looks we might considerably better that because I’ve got a list here with 188 names on it. The problem I have is that only 111 of those people have actually confirmed that they intend to come. The confirmed list breaks down into:

40 couples
12 single girls
1 television
18 single guys

The biggest percentage of non-confirmed is, as usual, the single guys.
There have been a number of people asking to be included that have only just joined the site or have only made a couple of posts and then disappeared. I keep checking to see if these people do become active users of the site but the majority just simply don’t. I’m sorry guys but the munch is for active users of the site only. If you don’t join in you might as well just arrange yourself a night out in a pub full of total strangers.
One last thing I want to mention is dress. We all know that most of the girls want to dress and feel sexy (and the guys wouldn’t have it any other way) but there’s a bit of a difference between sexy and outrageous. Please remember that this is a normal Saturday night out in a normal pub, it’s not the sex maniacs ball.

It wasn't my fault though, honest, I lost my internet connection and could visit the site from work as we have a snopper who checks all the sites visited. Why else do you think I would miss out on seeing the lovely Clare's avatar? confused
I'd still like to come to the NW munch, please can I come if I promise to be more active now that I'm able to visit the site again?

My mistake.
I got totally confuddled between the munches and the Steves.
I thought I had requested an invite to the NW Munch from yourself, steve_nw, about three weeks ago,when, in fact, I had only asked Steve_D for an invite to the London Munch :doh:
I hope this clears up the confusion.
I'd be grateful if you would put me on the list for the NW Munch.
If I am invited, I would also be grateful for any info on local accommodation.

I’m gonna have to temporarily call a halt to adding any more names for NW Munch III.
I’ve had 114 confirmations so far but the list itself has grown to 205 and I need to check with the landlord that we’re happy with the numbers. I can’t see a problem with 200 but before we go any further I need to make sure.
I shall also be sending a pm to all the people that have asked to come along but for one reason or another haven’t been able to tell me whether or not they intend to come. If you haven’t already confirmed then please let me know what your intentions are because if we do have to limit the numbers to 200 and you’re not going to come then you’re obviously denying someone else the opportunity.
Also………………..
I gave out the details for three local hotels. Two of these hotels are now fully booked so if you’re planning to come along and you need accommodation then please book it asap.

That all sounds a bit gloomy but it aint really………..we’re less than 4 weeks away from the biggest private party we’ve ever had!

We could still end up sleeping in the car! We can`t book a hotel without a credit card, and dad refused to let me use his as a deposit (nothing I did, honest, he`s just having issues with his bank), and we don`t have the funds this week to send a postal order! lol
Still, if we have to crash in the car we will, the night will be so late anyway I really don`t care!
