Ahem, I haven't got an agenda here  I just Googled 4x4 and safety and it came up with that. I notice that safety doesn't feature much on your two links!! Having said that my two links do come across as a bit whimpy. Diff'rent strokes.
Quite fancy being a witch. Do you have mods' powers when you're a witch??
lol...a simple argument over, over the japs vehicles compared to the uk ones would have been good.....i'm gonna get one.....either way....so come on peeps.....(oh yeah thnx sierra!..xxx) need something reliable.........so which is best on a budget----------> landrover/rangerover/pajero/shogun/cherokee............yes safety is always an issue......but i dont break any landspeed records when the mrs and kids and the dog is involved......Offroad......maybe sometime in the future...will consider 4x4 school for that....Fuel..will consider lpg convertion.......Looks....well all my cars end up looking great......Luxury a must fook ya only live once....so leather /aircon...etc...a must....People who dont give way......They always get the BIRD!....lol..........
Is this a Swingers Site or a 4 x 4 anoraks corner?
If you want information on cars, go to Autotrader and not turn this into something from Exchange and Mart!
We'll be discussing the merits of japanese washing machines next!!

Someone did mention that it is easier to have sex in a 4X4 - I just don't think it is safe sex!! :giggle:
Unless you are seriously going off road often and for some kind of reason, i still don't think anyone needs a 4x4.
And here's why. I used to be a rural postman delivering across a massive area that has some of the roughestand hilly terrain going. A lot of that driving was on really rough tracks through mostly moorland and forested land. Crossing fords was common as was driving in snow, ice, heavy rain and mud.
Only once was i stuck in mud when it had been raining for almost 3 weeks solid and i was stupid enough to go into a cow field. Only once have I "beached" my vehicle due to terrain. (beached is where you go into a hollow and the front end and back end wedge and your wheels are stuck in the air). There is only one delivery in this area where the vehicle needs a sump guard due to the rocks in the lane.
Most of this driving was done at over 30 mph in a 2 wheel drive. Hitting potholes so you flew over them. Fantastic fun driving, but all done in a Ford Escort or lately the Vauxhaul Combi.
Well I killed a few transits in muddy conditions, it much easier in the 4x4, but I got good reasons for them smile
In their defence modern land rovers have fuel economy better than many hot hatches, and use less road space than a mercades. So personally if peeps can afford to run them, I don't have a problem with it. The fact that they never use them properly is their own loss, as off road driving is great fun, especially on blues n twos...
I see peoples concerns, but there are worse things than 4x4's which are often LPG converted anyways...
Right now your getting me mad Just love off roaders yes we did have a designated green road ,well its used to be green last winter it changed due to drivers "keeping to good going" into a 30 yard wide sea of s**t Then imagine am dogs going mad a knock on the door "can you help we are stuck" a convoy of six assorted offroaders plus the one in the s**t ,said vehicle is 5 fields away from the green lane Resisting the urge to tell them to F OFF you get dressed show the others how to navigate sheds barn gates etc to get onto the road then set off with one as navigator to find the one thats stuck in the middle of 60 acres of bog and rushes With 5 or 6 assorted chains a 180 hp tractor in 20 mins you have him back on dry land and with instructions of "for f sake follow me" set off back to the yard where upon they drive straight off on thank kiss my ass nothing Then 3 weeks later we get a letter{we are in a national park} to say WE ore makeing a mess of the green lane and have done damage to a designated wet land area Yes im waiting fo another knock on the door
lmao.....and they all know who they are......lol...we had a merc sprinter van rubbish collector, got himself bogged down facing down hill on the green at the back of the house.......and couldnt reverse out ....in the process of chewing up the green....which is a designated childs play area.....and also the place i told him not to go...lol...was alas saved by a landrover who towed him out....at his own expense. The van driver just shot off with embarrasment....lmao....me and the guy with the lanny...just laughed......heres to 4x4's.....

Here's the real reason not to get a 4x4...

Let's Off Road!
Are you sure you need a 4x4? really really? wink
Oh well, if you do, can you angle your wing mirrors down a bit so you can see lower cars next to you? I was almost splattered by a dozy little madam recently who appeared to have hers angled in the applying lipstick position rolleyes smackbottom
lol...............i wont make any female driver jokes...lol
If you seriously want a 4x4 get a toyota hi lux. Its everything a landrover should have been and more.
woohoo bought na toyota hilux surf...with all the trimmings.....cars at junctions..watch out.....!...lol
