I've read the first page and the last 'cos frankly I got bored. I usually do try to mae the effort to read a whole thread but ... well, I'm bored.
Every now and again, someone will pop up with a whinge about how the Forum should be run... some of em even go as far as to flounce redface but enough of that 'cos I'm bored.
I had an msn chat with someone who doesn't even use the Forum and to my knowledge has only been in te chatroom once. They were trying to tell me how the site should be run. I blocked him. Sorry, i just got bored again.
Every site that has a close community like us poor buggers on Sh experiences highs, lows, cliques, rough times and all that bollox ... that's life. It's not perculiar to SH - it happens everywhere.
Bottom line - this site works! You know how it goes - if it aint broke, don't fix it!
.... pist. should go to bed. back tomorrow to delete my misdemeanours! (or however you spell it)
Ever site is diffract, with different rules. Different people fit in to different rules
But with all due respect lincskate, if you are unhappy with this site then find a site that is appropriate for you

I too, was giving this some consideration last night (at 3am, there was bugger all else to do!) and I was made aware of just how bad a time the mods were having it last night. It was after closing at the pubs, and the poor sods were bombarded with all manner of trolls trying it on for a laugh. Quite a few threads disappeared last night.
Yes, some of us oldies have start the odd daft thread, and yes, quite often they do get to stay. It`s not an indication of favouritism, or clique, it`s simply a matter of being better known, and the mod having an idea of where a daft thread might lead. For every one genuine newbie a mod extends free range to, there would be another ten trolls given the same freedom. If that had happened last night it would have been mayhem on the board. Of course, we don`t often get to see that, because the mods do such an efficient job of cleaning up after them.
If newbies seem to be getting the thin edge of the wedge, don`t blame the moderators, blame the trolls.

........ so why don't any of the techie threads get closed .....

Don't FFs close the techie threads!!! If it wasn't for a techie thread I'd still be wandering around in cyberspace.
Right :!: Who said 'Flucking good reason for banning techie threads' confused: :?: lol
I don't lock techie threads because they usually require a variety of answers.
They can be a useful resource for those having problems as well.
If they are repeated and the relevant link made to the previous thread, then I would lock it.
