The thing that really pisses me off is when people come on here and tell us all how they are a moderator or senior moderator on another site and just how successful and great that site is. If its that great on the other site then I say fluck off back there and leave us alone. I would prefer to say "fluck off" but that would be rude and belay the feminine image I try to portray. The best suggestion so far is a sticky saying:-
"If you would like to change this web site from the successful social swinging site that it already is then de-register here, The door is over there."
To be really rude I would say to all these so called web site magnates who want to meddle in something that already works extremely well, fuck off and leave our site alone and leave decision making to those who know what they are doing and who have the interests of the whole site at heart and not just the whims of some selfish dick-head who thinks they would make a good replacement for George Bush.
This site is just fine the way it is. It works for the majority so don't try and change the site, try and change YOU.

I've posted threads about stuff that's likely to bore the shit out of people (mainly semi-techie computer stuff). I can name at least 1 mod who "techno-shite"
We talk about not drawing lines, but a line has been drawn. If a mod thinks the subject is dull then they have the right to lock it rather than letting the boring stuff die or get hijacked and help us hijackers kill a few hours at work......
I'm not usually one to criticise the mods here. They are far more relaxed than most sites, but I do think that the number of locked threads has gone through the roof recently and maybe Mark should arrange a short vacation (possibly somewhere in France :wink: ) so the mods can step down a gear and de-stress.

When you look back its so OBVIOUSLY the main area of grief and ill feeling ( growing) on the forum.
I personally moderate two other forums so know exactly the thankless task that mods have to do...... so rather than continue to create the 'us and them' or 'clique' that many have referred to why not just dreate an off topic area for chatting - it works well on other forums and reduces work for mods and saves ill feeling.
To the senior Mods I'd personally be a little concerned that several people have been leaving the forum over this issue and there is generally quite a bit of ill feeling for what is supposed to be a fun and liberated place?
I have received PM's from people basically agreeing with previous comments, but not willing to post publicly....... that can't be a good vibe can it?
Finally - if the current policy of thread locking is to continue why not change the wording of the description of the cafe - and also the posting rules to confirm to newer (and established) users that off topic threads are not allowed?
I'm just trying to get something positive here - I've no desire to be attacked again by arrogant and rude people..... please! :cry: :cry:
