So, there I was, letting the cat in and I look out of my back door into my garden and I notice my bike is missing. Some bottom-feeding little scrote has picked the lock on the gate leading into my garden and has made off with my brand new bike, which I've not even had for two weeks! mad :x :x
I swear, if I ever catch the little bastard, he's in for a long, fun-filled night with me, a stripped mains flex and his testicles.
youll never catch him flappy old boy he'll be peddling and you'll be running, sorry i shouldn't mock its a bloody nightmare round my way for thieves too, stuff off the washing line gets nicked round here.... wink
I may not be able to catch them on foot, but I'm a bloody good shot with my paintball marker. A few well placed shots will make him stop...
to the head i hope, body shots are for pacifist paintballing virgins, nothing like a shot in the ear to make the blood boil
Hey, I'll unload a full hopper into them, my marker has a full auto mode on it.
Just out of interest, was it locked up in the garden?
No, but it wouldn't have made much difference if it was as they could have just picked it up and walked out with it and cut the lock off at their own leisure. There was also a locked gate in the way, which they picked.

There has been reference made to the rights of the people who use this website and that users basically have no rights, that they are subject to the changing dicates of the site owner (that's not an attack there simply a fact). Yes, Mark has absolute perogative to change the rules as and when he sees fit as it is HIS website. He wasn't asked to build it - he did it of his own accord and if it were my website then I would be bloody offended if someone tried to force my hand in it's administration.....
.....But..... (there always is one)..........
There is a trade off between absolute control and asking people to come to the website and use it. It's not just a question of 'if we build it, they will come' but more 'if we build it right, they will stay'. When new members register and join SH they are agreeing to a set of rules clearly laid out in the AUP and it's these rules that should be adhered to - nothing else.... there is no grey area here..... did XYZ break a rule in the AUP and, if so, is a ban warranted, when maybe a warning would suffice? Continued breaches of the AUP by the same person shows a blatant disregard for the website and the people that use it and a ban is justified - as it is in real life - if you break the law you get 'banned' from society by being locked up. Only here it's locked out, a very effective punishment.
Rant over, now who wants a shag ... hehehe

True, just curious - sounds like the only thing that might have stopped em was if it was locked to something solid with one of those super duper locks, and prefereably wired up to the mains...
I dunno what planet I inhabit but whilst I do see cyclical trends in the way the site appears from time to time, I am blissfully unaware of all the things that are being discussed here at the moment, and the reasons for them. Yep, it's true. redface surprisedops:

So let's say that the banned member in question has been banned for innappropriate behaviour, including physical violation of another person. Should we just let that person go to the hotels being used by SH members? Allow current members to actively encourage their presence and thereby put other SH members at risk of being physically abused by the person we banned for that kind of behaviour in the first place? If the banned member is an intimidating bully who feels perfectly comfortable going up to someone's face and staring them out, or standing across the room plainly staring at them and talking about them to a 3rd party? Someone who takes great pleasure in making people feel uncomfortable, laughing at the ops and mods that have banned them and basically sticking 2 fingers up at the whole of SH? If we have to do that then I'll be removing my name from all future munch lists and if one person has to go through the upset that several other members had to go through when that person was originally banned I'll just say "sorry, nothing we can do. We know he's like that but as long as he only goes to the afters party it's ok, deal with it" Or would you prefer that we do our level best to ensure that members who are banned for physical abuse and have more than one complaint made against them cannot be put in a position to abuse other members?

I am highlighting this paragraph again so that people may actually take in what it says!!!.... If at any time there is an incident whereby the police could be involved and charges could be made then we as Mods/OP's have a moral duty towards the other members of this site to ensure that no-one else is possibly placed in this situation....
What really pisses me off is that these people dont realise that they have behaved in an inappropriate manner and that makes them dangerous... Just because we are members of a swingers website does not mean that you can feel free to just grope/grab anyone you take a fancy to...
We work bloody hard to ensure that the members of this website are respectful towards others, but when people start abusing others it's time for them to leave...
Imagine going into a pub and seeing someone you like, walking up to them and grabbing some part of their anatomy..... What's going to happen??... More than likely a slap round the face/punch on the nose and then the police would be called... So why should we tolerate this sort of behaviour??
As for the most recent ban, I fully agree with Ian's analogy but will say this... The person in question was banned because they actively encouraged a banned member to go to the hotel where other members were... The person in question had already been warned that they risked a ban if they were seen to encourage the banned member to attend, and by arriving with this person they did exactly that...
The regular members of this site know nothing of what goes on in the background, and trust me most of you would be shocked at the shite we have to deal with.... I for one am sick to death of the sanctimonious twats who think they know better than us about what has happened etc.... Unless you know all the facts then STFU and stop spreading gossip.. There is no hit list because trust me I can think of at least a dozen people that I would have banned if I could have... It's only people that have either broken the AUP or people that have crossed the line and the possiblity of legal action could be taken....

Yes, but AUP stands for Acceptable Use Policy, a policy is like a code or a guideline, but it is often mistaken for a

codes and policys are discretionary, it's the job of a judge to interpret it with reference to all other factors including the defendants past history.

Me, but you're not on my list :rascal:
Well I'm sorry but not surprised.
After living abroad for a number of years and after (unfortunately) being back in this country for a while, I've come to the conclusion that, in the years I've been away, the country has turned into a nation of thieves and vandals and feckless leeches who are happy to falsely claim benefits and live off the backs of hard working folk.
I make no apologies for saying it and I am in a position to make a comparison having lived away for a significant time and having been the victim on several occasions of said thieves and vandals and other low life maggots since I've returned..
 mad :x
Sorry for the rant!

TBH, I'm not really bothered about getting it back as I'm claiming on my insurance. I jst want to make sure he never thinks about nicking anything again. Needless to say, I'm going to be having strong words with my housing association tomorrow about the appalling lack of security around here. (And taking my own measures to ensure that my replacement bike doesn't get nicked.)
What a total bugger.. maybe you should invest in one of those small security camera's to watch over the garden, as they may be back.
I had some little whatsits try to nick my bike a few years ago (motorbike). Trashed the ignition and never got past it, so just cost me a bomb to fix... Insurance just goes up if ou claim so just came out of my pocket.
Luckily where I am living now has a very low crime rate, but still had the airial snapped a couple of times.
As such I can sympathise with the use of a paintball marker... few well placed shots, about halfway up, with frozen rounds...
Good luck with your new bike, what was it by the way? We are just thinking of buying one?

It was an Apollo mountain bike from Halfords. Was only £130, but I was so chuffed about having transportation again (and having an excuse to get some excercise, lol).
Like I said, going to go completely overboard with security this time. Anyone know where I can get hold of those exploding dye packs banks use?
Got a paint grenade from the SH paintball weekend ;)
My dad had his motorbike nicked a couple of years ago. It had a chain lock on it, it was in the back of a locked garage with a car between the bike and the garage door, and there was another car parked on the drive. They broke the lock on the garage then carried it over the two cars (It was a crap bike too  ). If the theiving little darlings want it they will get it!!!!!!!!
Yes, but I'll make it as difficult and as painful as possible for them to nick it next time.
When you do catch 'em make sure you throw a party for them. I'm thinking of a kind of S&M munch where they'd be the guest(s) of honour!!
  innocent
Can I have an invite?
Not really that good at ranting.......................
But I am getting pretty miffed about the way some folks are trying to out do each other in the "I am more annoyed than you because of the uninvited pm" brigade.
We all get them......some more than others. But a quick
"(Insert name) do not PM me" usually gets an op telling them not to pdq
or try the "/ignore (insert name)" trick if they persistantly pm you
or even try "/notice (insert op name) These people are annoying me can you do something"
There are three ways you can do it without resorting to three lines of abuse. Why do you need to do it? Are you trying to say "Look at me, I am popular"? It does nothing to enhance the room with verbal abuse flying here, there and everywhere.........with some even egging them on.
I go to the room to get away from lifes ugliness and want to enjoy the company of funny people who make me laugh. This, however, adds nothing to my enjoyment.
Dave_Notts
Certainly, ES. I should think a couple of hours alone in a darkened dungeon with you would be enough to convince the little scrote the error of his ways.
