today was going badly anyway... the heating broke at work and it was so cold we all got sent home, which is crap because I'm temping so I only get paid for hours I work, then on the way home some arsehole of an HGV driver came screaming onto a roundabout and nearly hit me and I had to pull over and sit there shaking for five minutes.
And then this. I feel like crying. I'm going for a bath... back in a sec to check what's happening.
And.... I don't know Mark. I guess some of you do. I realise this must be a hard day for him as well.... but it would be nice to hear from him and know what his reasoning is, why he decided to sell. If it's anything other than money.

Whatever happens Fred - we shouldn't blame Mark for doing what he's done.
Even 12 months ago and more - it was taking up too much of his time.
Remember he never made a profit from it. Just be happy that he put so much of his life and energy into it that has enabled us to be here today.
If things do change for the worse - we all have the option to walk away from it.

I am however dispointed that the site is to be sold of...i wud have prefered a consortium of SH memebers to keep the site running.
I am extreamly unhappy a mobile ringtone comapny is taking over and the fact it might becoming a paid site has angered me more. I do not want my details be advertised so that i can be spamed by junk. I am happy being here if the site continues to be free....
if i have to pay i will definatly end up walking away from SH...and i think that is the bottom line.

Give it a few months and it'll either be better, the same, or worse (in which case, a collaboration between the SH techie crew might get another site up and running for us)
This is something that I am certain the new administration will soon (if not already) be aware of. I'm sure Mark will have said what technical gurus we have amongst out membership.

Oh come on there is no need to judge the guy like that.
Mark had without doubt put in many, many hours of hard work and created an extremely busy and viable site.
As I remember he has a young family and it must have been very hard work for him to continue the we really blame him for taking the money?
I do think it is a shame that he didnt feel , for whatever reason, that he could post his goodbyes and perhaps expain his actions but.............................................
If he had have done I am sure it would have helped everyone including the new owners
I personally feel that there is far too mcuh negativity around tonight and that we should be looking forward not backwards. Remember this would have been highly valued becaus of the number of hits it gets per day not because of the "community" which is only a small part of the total package to most regualr users (i guess)
This community is supposed to be open minded, not much of that showing at the moment!!
