Its only your main profile pics, you can have whatever you like in your gallery 
. Basically it is to stop cock shots from being seen on friends feeds, your e-mails, who has viewed your profile and events etc. You can imagine as an example looking at an attending event list to just see a "row of sausages" in the pictures.
Also comments on stories etc are public so we had the potential problem with minors. I have to say we have only had two negative comments so far about it (including yours).

The site has the ability to 'haze' photos on the index page ads - why not apply this to the stories comments?...

What do you mean when you say main profile pics?
I have read this post before an assumed you meant the avatar. Now type slow cos I can't read fast and I am very non techie so use simple words

When you log into the site, it shows you people that you might be interested in and if you have extra's, it shows you who has looked at your profile. The picture that shows, I believe, is the one in your profile.
Now I do know that something was being put in place so that when you logged in to those pictures, they were not going to be full on genital shots all over your homepage.

Max I thought only the album cover picture shows up everwhere as their main picture.
surely they only have to elect a non adult shot album cover, the rest can stay as they are?
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I bet many people dont know that when the site changed a picture was put as their album cover automatically even though people like myself at the time had this images in our old private albums.

Mine was too.. I have never had pictures on the site only updated too to test it, then within a week it was on my main profile, so I deleted them completely :shock:
But think of the people that dont read the forums and now have what they thought a private picture now public.

Whilst I understand the 'reasoning' behind having a non-adult picture uploaded for use on SH and that a selection of ads / events and forum postings are used as 'tasters' of the sites content for prospective new members, We might not want our genitals plastered all over the web is precicely the reason I also don't want our mug shots plastered there as well!!
There is no reason that the site cannot code a 'default' image (eg the site logo flower) instead where the profile picture would normally appear on these non-member pages..
And yes, an endless stream of Sausages and Fish Sarnies floating across my Home Page people who've view my profile or those I might be interested in does show a certain lack of flair on some members behalf when selecting a profile photo, it is infinately more interesting than the default 'gray-out' now appearing..
