Hi folks
a close friend of mine has recently installed said program, including firewall and now finds herself in a position where although she can access tinternet, none of her chat servers or online e-mail servers will work (msm, , , etc.)
so before i go through all the bollox of downloading it myself and learning how to configure it, i just wondered if any of the good people on SH have already done so and could save me some time?
thanks in advance kiss
oh and keep the answers on theh thread please as it might help others in the same boat
take a look at the cookies setins pete
they may need switchin on to except things?
I've not used it for a while, but there is a section where programmes that have tried to gain access to the 'net may have a red cross next to them. Change them to green ticks to allow them out, if that's the case.
I never had any trouble with it, so I don' t think it's ZA being a pain.
Thanks peeps
well aparantly all was working fine untill someone installed zone alarm for her, now not only can she not access any of her chat servers, she cant access any of her online e-mail clients either.
it does sound to me that maybe the guy who installed ZA has also set her windows securfity settings to max.
will check it out later, thanks for the thoughts guys

That's what it sounds like. We have ZA on this PC and we don't have any of the problems you listed. It is often enough to set the trusted zone to medium and allow the various necessary programmes etc to be in that zone.
