Sorry about this peeps.
Carons mother has been taken seriously ill and I need to get her home to Ireland as quickly as possible.
She does not have any photographic ID so I cant book her a flight, so this leave us with the choice of ferries.
My problem is that I can not seem to find any ferries that sail from the south of the UK to either Dublin or Belfast. Google is driving me mad and the only terminals I can find for either destination are a 10 hour round trip drive from here.
If anyone knows of any could you please let us know?
Many thanks.
Caron & Pete.
sorry pete cant help you on this one mate but mine and mrs dpg's thoughts are with you and caron

mr and mrs dpg xxxx
Only terminals i can think of are Swansea and Hollyhead ,but i expect you have tried these ,sorry cant be more help.
To be honest Pete I can't think of one that goes from the South, but even if it did the reality is it would probably take even longer.
If flying isn't an option I'd suggest driving up to Hollyhead and getting an overnight ferry so you get get some kip in a cabin to break your journey up a bit.
Our thoughts are with you :therethere:
Pete mate sorry to hear that.
I think your best route would be Swansea to Dublin and the only other choice would be, as already mentioned, Holyhead but that is a fair distance from you. I think Swansea is your nearest.
Sorry can not do better mate; Liverpool would be longer.

Pete a quicky mate :-
North or South :-
If North your best bet, I think, would be from Hollyhead.
Pete the shortest distance by sea is defo Hollyhead to Dublin.
Thats the best I can come up with
Good luck and give Caron a hug from me
Phredd
Neil mate :-
I believe Liverpool to Dublin is no longer, (apart from just seasonal). Seem to remember my brother telling me. The only Ireland sailings from the Pool now is Belfast .
Not 100% sure about that.

fred yep looks like you're right mate. one a day 8 hour crossing liverpool-dublin?
pete, the only other option i could find is fleetwood-larne. seem to be a couple of crossings a day, but looks like 8 hour trips? might be easier to get up near blackpool than it is driving through north wales to holyhead? best i could find mate?
fingers crossed everything works out ok. hug for caron.

Pete........
It is possible to travel to Ireland with other proof of who you are if you speak with the aircraft operator in advance.... Phone call!! You will need either a photo Drivers licence along with utility bill or what they ask for... Make sure you explain the problem fully! They will help.
Mike
