ouch!!!!.....tongue piercing

Iain went and had his tongue pierced today and convinced me to go back afterwards and get mine done, cos he said his didn't hurt......so i did....and fek me does the b*****d hurt.......i can't swallow (ooer missus) and can hardly talk, which Iain won't mind cos at least i can't nag him now!
P.S don't post any funnies cos when i laff i splatter the monitor lol

aw i know how you feel
had mine done ages ago
drink lots of cold drinks and try sucking on broken up lolly ices
and use listerine heals it up dead quick

when we had ours done a while back now, we found sucking ice pops very numbed the pain and also stopped the tounge swelling so it didnt feel like a big mac quarter pounder in your mouth

When i got my lip done, i went straight to McD's, and had to re-learn how to eat biggrin

Neither it nor my tongue were sore though. What's sore with your tongue is if, once it starts to heal, you have a sneezing fit, and the bar rattles off your teeth, re-opening the wound. EEK!
Stay off noodles and toast, for now. Nothing spicy either. :)

I got mine done about 2 years ago and it didn't hurt.
Just be careful when you eat as your tongue is used to rolling around and you will crunch on the stud many times before your brain reteaches it now that fecker does hurt !
Avoid spaghetti for a while its tricky till your used to the stud. biggrin

I put the short stud in 3days later cos mine didn't swell either.

Out of interest (much sympathy red for current pain) how good is a tongue piercing longer term?? From male or female perspective, I seen them around but never been with anyone who had them.

we had ours done because we both had the experience of going with other people with pierced tongue's...awesome feeling...absolutely awesome

we went to bury this morning and the shop there was asking Â£45 to do the piercing and also to replace the bar in a weeks time once it had healed....we came back to oldham and the place we have our tattoo's done at charged us Â£20 each so it was kinda 2 for 1 compared to prices in bury....as for do's and dont's i think lisa will tell you don't believe me when i say it doesn't hurt :twisted: :twisted:

Well I had my tongue pierced about five months ago. My brother has a tattoo and piercing studio and he did it for me for free cool

I had absolutely no problems with it at all and was able to eat a roast chicken dinner that same day, although of course had to learn how to chew without biting the stud.
My brother recommended me to wear a plastic/PTFE bar with surgical steel ball on each end to reduce the tension on the tongue. This I did and had no swelling, lisping or discomfort, apart from a slight tender feeling where the clamp had been.
He also told me Ibupfrofen is good at taking out any swelling or pain, along with sucking ice cubes or kids ice pops etc.
Reactions by other people to it have varied. Some have never even noticed it when I'm talking, my sons aged 22 and 19 think it's great.
My younger sister told me she thought I was too old to have it done. I'm 41 so not ancient, although she thinks only the youth should do such silly things as have their tongue pierced rolleyes

Best not tell her about my hood piercing then :grin:
Best of all have been the reactions to it whilst giving bj's, and it certainly never fails to add a little pleasure to it :twisted: wink

Any discomfort is well worth the end result IMHO :wink:

My sister had hers done and she recommended those ibuprofen capsules that melt on your tongue (trying not to name brands in case I get in bother! confused

) She said it gets straight to work and takes the swelling down as well.
Still debating whether to get it done, my belly button, nose and eyebrow were painful enough!

Had my tongue pierced about 4 yrs back and love it - in fact having another tongue piercing done soon and can't wait..
My stud is rather near the nd of my tonge cos at the time of the first piercing I was what they call tongue tied, since ripped it twice (painful but heals quickly) and saw a piercer last week who says there's room for another stud now

OK I'm gonna blame you lot pmsl!! I went and got it done today!! Ohhh me tongue is sore, I so want this bar of Praline Flake that is looking at me alluringly but every time I take a bite the bits of nut get stuck in my teeth and my tongue knacks when I try to use it to get them out again! ARGH!!!
