Well I'm not usually the type to say this on a forum as the people who have been fantastic know it already but I'm going to as I think it's a great idea... nice one Leps biggrin

First on the list is Dambuster. We've been in contact since I joined the site and he's been a wonderful friend to me.
He's always been there to chat to and has given some damn good advice. He's also funny and intelligent and is there in times of need. It's always a pleasure seeing him or talking to him.

Next is Marmalaid. Top fella - Nothing is too much trouble, he has a heart of gold and has helped me in more ways than he could possibly know. One of the best friends I've ever had, he's always there with a laugh and a smile and has helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life to date.

You people have made some very enjoyable nights possible.... every single munch I've been to has been brilliant. I've met some fantastic people through the munch's and I've become a lot more sociable! lol

Thank you to all of you.... They must be a bit of a headache to organise but I'm pleased they still happen!
I think that's enough soppyness from me....I'll be showing my feminine side next! :lol:

My only reservation about doing this, is that I will miss someone out.
So please forgive me if I do.
This is in no particular order.
Last year I went through quite a rough time on here and in addition to our own Mark, 2 mods in particular were extremely supportive, if it wasn't for them I would not still be here. So Mal and Heather - many, many thanks.
Dawnie - who always makes me laugh with here posts and for being such a wonderful honest person and also for her support in the past (Dawn - I promise I will return it once I have washed it!).
Ice Piefor being, as said before... a true gentleman, flirt and all round nice guy and also for his selfless work in prep for the munches. I doff my hat (well I would if I had one).
Marms - well, for being just himself really - someone always prepared to help in what ever way he can. Whether it be a techie issue, an ego boost or a shoulder to cry on. Countless people on this site have experienced this.
Davej, Warwick and Choon for always giving my spirits a lift.
Vicky_UK and Steveg_nw for all their hard work for arranging NW events. Such a time consuming and thankless task sometimes.
And, of course, Sarge - always my friend!
But one person, who is still around very occasionally, will remain in my heart forever. A wonderful friend, a terrific wit, an extraordinary writer. Our wonderful Articifer.
I could go on, and on, and on mentioning people on here who, over the last couple of years, have had an affect on my life. But that would take all day.

As most of you know I do not like threads like this - sorry Lep old pal. This sort of 'beauty contest' is fraught by omission.
However, the list compiled so far has been a reminder of how many real diamonds there are in this place. There are more still to be mentioned and I wouldn't hazard an attempt to fill in any gaps (God I can be such a coward on occasions). But, can I break a habit of a lifetime and mention one person who ticks just about every box in my book and that's Missy.

I have read this website for some time before actually joining it and I must say that some of the people who's posts I quite enjoyed seem to have disappeared of the face of the earth altogether. SunBunny was always eloquent and entertaining but she seems to have stopped posting, there's one in particular that I can think of.
Wishmaster had a thing to say or two also. Hit the mark quite a few times and sailed close to it many times more but always thought provoking I felt.
Postie is usually quite coherent but does have a tendency to waffle sometimes. But I particularly enjoy Dambuster's ravings! Now there's a spririted soul who has a firm grip on what's real and what isn't!

if I had to pick a hero from here it would be....... Naughtynymphos...... no don't reach for ya buckets, she really has been/ is a tower of strength for me, from almost loosing an arm( i was actually preped ready for the amputation) to just being there when i have had a shitty day at work.
She takes my rantings on the chin( and I know I do rant sometimes) and no matter how down i have been she has always managed to share a little warmth and cheer me before long. So for that, she is my hero

Well not one person mentioned so far would not have made my list smile

There is a great bunch on here...
I will second, third or fifth Marmsas the only other man who SarcySue trusts implicitly. He is a natural force on legs and I hope he finds what he is looking for.
I must mention again Heather, without whom I would not be hear after she nursed me through munch 1, and the incomparable IcePie with a wit just as sharp who was also at his first munch that fateful day in London.

Munch saviours is really the heart of this post, Jas n Tim rescued me from my second one and put me up on the sofa. While Venus n Mars kept me company on the way up, and helped my kids go crabbing in the bay some time later.
Sarahand SexySteph are just munch saviours in their own rights. Amazing peeps whom I have great respect for.
Speaking of respect, Vix and Reese, who I must say just outclass me in conversation and life XP, but are great to share time with. Great company, but still looking out for me when I need a friend, thanks peeps. Not to mention technical and bandwidth helpers for pics across the site.
HR and Dino, Happycats, Postie, Roger, Smoking Muff and SmokerJim and DreamerHelen have all survived prolonged chats with me, and deserve mention for this alone. Not to mention coming to my aid when I call. Like the great Jags, always there with a PM, even if my posts seem just down she is there to pep me up with a kind word. While the rest of the mod team have always responded so quickly and professionally to me. They all deserve mention.
I could go on, but it is late and the brain is fuzzing. There are so many things that go on in PM, so much support, and simple friendship, no strings attached. I love you all and you know it. So big hugs from me to you all, and all the rest of you I am sure I have missed due to tiredness....

not a beauty contest it was an attempt to move from to tomfoolery thread we often post(me included ) and just watching the work done by others that we see and often over look
beauty contests are for the vain this is aimed at the unselfish within sh there are many more that i could list but cn get silly so i mentioned sarah because she germinated the idea for this thread my head and many good examples have been put in the posts that followed
people have got the idea of what this thread is about keep it up
