Paranoia or plain stupid???

Hope one of your more experienced mebers can help.
I have just responded to my ad and unbelievably received a response. Typically, i now feel that I have been extremely lucky or (and this is where my paranoia creeps in) that this person is a journo'.
Is this a normal response and are there ways to be sure that "my arse is covered".
Your reassurance or advice is greatly appreciated.
