I have a pc monitor/tv it's a samsung,I have a 15 pin lead from pc monitor to tower. Windows loads up then I get a blank screen saying mode not supported. Could anyone possibly help me out , much appreciated thanks x
sounds like your screen reolution has been set to high for your monitor to support i did know how to reset it but errmmm i've forgotten....i'll get back to you in a minute smile.....oh easy way is if you have access to another monitor plug that in and change your display properties
go into safe mode and change it there.
i think you need to press f8 as windows is booting up and then access safe mode.
when windows has finished loading right click mouse and select properties.
then click display properties and select a resolution like 1028x768 or 800x600.
if there is a box to click which will remove resolutions your monitor cannot display then tick it.
reset pc and see if everything works. if it has you can go back into display properties and select a better resolution which works for you.
see if this helps
We get this quite often when using the pc with the TV, especially when playing some games as they tend to change your resolution.
What we have to do is keep tapping the F8 key on the keboard when first starting up, this should bring up the safe mode menu, at this point just select VGA mode using the arrows keys, then press enter.
Once windows loads you can change the resolution of the monitor/tv to 60hz by right clicking on an empty part of the desktop and selecting proerties, when the window opens, click the settings tab at the top, then click on the advanced tab, and from the top menu select the monitor tab, change to 60hz and click apply
Thanks will go and try xxxx
from safe mode change your resolution to 800x600 or 1024x768 they generally work with most tvs but some higher resolutions wont

I had a problem with my optical one. I had to remember to sync the mouse and dongle thing each time i used it (there is a button on each). Went back to a corded one...
No mouse, no problems, two solutions
Press the Windows Key + R together, that will pop up a box, and put
,Control_RunDLL ,,3
into it, press enter, up pops the Display settings control panel, now use CTRL-TAB to change tabs, and TAB to change items, up/down to mod items and Enter to save.
Or
Bring up the start menu (Start button on keyboard) goto all programs, accesories, accesibility options and turn on the 'keyboard mouse' and use the numeric pad to move the mouse around * / keys are the mouse buttons smile
