i am referring to Members using more than one alias to post.
It seems sometimes that posters have a very similar style to those who might have already left, or simply want another identity! I'm sure this isn't the case with almost 100% of the people on here - but i was curious to know if this has happened?
For example, named and shamed posters reapplying under different names, or simply people just having Two sign ins?
Ta guys, Mxxxx
(edited for personal reasons!)
Naming and shaming doesnt really go down too well on here its been discussed at length before.
If you think someone who has been banned has been posting in another alias then let a mod know.
Yep what she says.

Thanks Clare - don't worry though i had no intention of naming and shaming anyone - i guess what i meant by that is those who have left feeling 'disgraced' might come back under a new guise... sorry for the confusion - been a long week!

I'm not sure if you guys use this term on this site, but i am referring to Members using more than one alias to post.

In the case of people asking to be deactivated and leaving of their own accord then coming back with a different ID, I think there's probably one or two, but if I thought I knew who they were I'd keep it to myself. Banned people reinventing themselves is expected and I think the mods watch for them and give them the heave-ho when they spot them.
Running more than one ID simultaneously is often an attempt to disrupt in some way without being recognised, but they're easy to spot. I'm a member of a forum site elsewhere that's composed mainly of sock puppets - hundreds of active 'members' but only about 50 actual people. On that site it's accepted, but it's a very different kind of board. It does happen on here, but it doesn't take a genius to spot a sock puppet - even if you don't know exactly who they are, they know too much to be genuine newbies - and they never last more than a couple of posts.

I'll just have a whisky please, no ice...... lol
dunno I've had four user names, Kits had 3 (if you count when we both posted under kitkat), although I doubt any of them fall into the category of the original post.
There are probably dozens of occasional users who re-register under new names, and a fair few regular members who for whatever reason decide to adopt new identitys.
It is probably a question of motives - why are they doing it. Even those who have broken the rules, or simply pissed people off, are justified in claiming that their anonymity is just so that they can have a fresh start.
But then there are the trolls ............ mad
Bottom line is, if you want to raise a question about another member, contact the moderators. They may not confirm or deny your suspicions, but they will be alerted if something needs to be done about it.

Not in the same glass i hope!
There are various technical ways mods can see who is trying to cheat the system, I had a PM or two a while back when someone else was using the same connection as me to post just checking everyone was genuine smile
We have a good technical man at the helm ,with a good (ok great) selection of mods working together. Culmination of which is if you try to screw with the forum (as in technically rather than a more physical type of screwing) you won't get far.
Having said that, it is a shame that the aforementioned mods have to do so much chasing all this down, so hats off to them...
