Perfect Figure?

So... was poking round this morning and came across what is apparently the - is there such a thing?
I mean everyone has issues with their bodies regardless of the size and shape, I have friends who I think have a figure to die for yet they're not happy either. I've been overweight most of my adult life and I've finally started doing something about it but people are now starting to ask me when I'm going to stop. I don't really have a target weight, I don't really care what I weigh, I worry more about what I look like.
Initially I was thinking it would be nice to be a size 14 but now I'm almost there I just want to keep going. I'll never be skinny, I like my curves but I'm absolutely loving being able to fit into smaller clothes and feel great.
I think the lady in the link has a nice figure and I think it's much healthier to have some curves rather than skin and bone but the article says it's hard to maintain a figure like that unless you're naturally gifted with curves.
So, do you have the perfect figure for you or are there bits you want to change? Are we all obssessed with our shape?
I'm a bit wary of holding anyone up as 'perfect' to be honest.
I'd love to have the figure I had in sixth form. I was a 12/14 with tits and, thanks to years of riding, great legs. Alas my accident put paid to that and then subsequent years of inactivity & not looking after myself means I still have the boobs but I'm fat! But years of working in fashion retail have convinced me that no matter what size they are, women can have issues with their body image. And equally that no matter what size you are, you can look good if you dress to suit your shape.
I also now work with some young women who are starving and exercising themselves to death to look 'perfect' so I think there's a fine line needs treading.
Happy in their own skin, I reckon that should be the aim!
That is a very 1950's figure ... slim but curvy. I think she has a great figure but I bet she aint happy with it!! With all the stick thin models around now I dont think it will catch on with the younger generation (ooooh that made me sound sooo old)!!
I dont think any woman is or will ever be perfectly happy with how she looks. I know I'm not ... the baby belly has to go and I want me boobs picked up of the floor!! lol

Yup... I agree completely. Which is why I found the link quite interesting, although again the 'perfect figure' was my phrase... having a body to aspire to was the line in the article. I just thought it was a much healthier image for young girls to be aspiring to than the size zero efforts. lol

I think the saddest thing nowadays is the amount of photoshopping etc that goes on which people forget about.
Check out the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty video

It shows just what goes into making "beauty" that so many folk now aspire to.
Problems with the link, but I get the message.
Everyone should be "what's right for them" - don't go too far with the slimming.

:giggle:
So in one breath you say to do "what's right for them" and in the same sentence you say "don't go too far with the slimming"?
Which is it? dunno
lol

Surely, there's no conflict - people shouldn't be tempted to go further with slimming than their own norm.

I wouldn't have the first idea what my norm is.

You are joking right?! :giggle:
I have a perfectly normal figure (for someone who loves bread and chocolate) does that count?
Perfect figure? Well, obviously I could do to lose weight but the thing I'd most like to change if I could? My short legs - long body combo. It's an absolute bugger trying to get dresses or longer coats to look anything but stupid.
Decent personality will outweigh a perfect figure any day.
This figure is quite cool:

Wasn't that brucie's piccy?
Well this ain't far off perfect...

Which goes to show there is someone for everyone.
i prefer the top one though. wink
She has a pierced belly button - yuk! lol
Hmm, given the pictures above - the ladies in the second picture have the advantage that they are 'all natural' and not carrying around a load of silicone strapped to their chests. While a touch of makeup and a nice hair style can do wonders for looks, falsifying your body can never be as attractive as a real body. Or is that just me? dunno

I find that incredibly sexy.
Tight tanned stomach to go with it.

No you have a very good point Foxy but....I have heard that very large ladies carry all sorts of health risks themselves...diabetes and heart problems to name a few.
Do not think false boobs do you that much harm.

Until there's a famine. wink
Emmmm, this is difficult because what I would class now as the perfect figure, is not the same as I would have done a few years ago, and is probably completely different from what others would say was perfect.
I think curves are essential and I ladies which go straight up and down (possibly due to being underweight) so nothing what so ever for me, but a lady with curves, boobs and hips, who are confident in their bodies always do it for me.
If could go out and purchase the perfect body, a few years ago it would have to be either Hallie Berry (in catwoman gear) or Catherine Zeta Jones (in any outfit)
My you change more in your pics than you do at most Wigan Munches NWC lol

Just quoting you as I think this is an interesting point NWC as without having surgery there is no way I would ever have curves. At my slimmest I'm literally straight up and down, if I put on weight I only put a little on my boobs and the rest goes round my middle turning me into a round blob with legs sticking out of the bottom :lol2:
I don't think there could ever be such thing as a perfect body as it's so much down to the individual but I know there is nothing as sexy as someone who is comfortable and confident in their own skin. Therefore I'd say the perfect body is the the one you're happy with while taking into account genetics ie. some people will never have curves while others will never waifs!
I'm not sure that there is any such thing as 'the perfect figure' as it depends so much on the actual person. I'm sure that Sappho won't mind me saying that she is very much a 'straight up and down' body shape, indeed she says as much in her own profile. However, I have always found her irresistably sexy - and I still do. That is very largely to do with her personality (I am on record as saying that it is individual people I find sexy rather than particular body types), but also that her body really suits her. The only way Sappho would ever have curves is if she went down the silicone route - and I'm afraid I don't find fake boobs particularly attractive. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like curves - I just prefer them to be natural.
In short, if I like the woman as a person and I find her personality engaging and attractive, then she will be sexy.
I have to say NWC, that Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta Jones and Holly Willoughby are all women that I lust over (and I don't normally do the 'celebrity' thing), but they are all beautiful, feminine and talented - and not stupid either!
Amuse me and intrigue me and you are already more than half way there, regardless of your dress size.
Will
I'd say curves are essential too, as long as they're not all heading in the same direction. I'm not into stick thin personally. I'm with Bloke on the piercings ( I came very close to getting one stuck in my teeth a while back ( dont ask lol )). But whilst a figure is nice nothing is sexier than a woman who knows she is sexy, and I'm thinking this is the thing about burlesque, empowerment and all that.
Rough rule of thumb for me is ideal 12-14 but I am sooo flexible on that. Mainly cos I think character is more important.
