As I browse through the photo ads, I am struck by the sheer arrogance of some of the advertisers, their criteria is almost impossible to achieve.

No, they're not being superior, they are stating their preferences, as we are all entitled to do. I think lots of the ones you have stated above, will apply to many people on here.

the more criteria people put in their ad - the easier it is to avoid wasting your time replying to people who will just not be interested in you in the long run.

As FB so rightly said, it's people just stating preferences and why not? If I am to meet someone, I don't want them turning up smelling like they haven't bathed for a week and expect me to get intimate with them.
By the way, as you've indicated your own preferences and needs, does your rant include your own ad?
