Yup. good idea.... thought sommat looked different but couldn't put my finger on it.
A couple of other tricks to see if an advert is "real" is checking the msn or profile...
<<< then the address "minus the @ ....."
and
<<<<then the msn/ account including the @ /@msn.... (co or com)
While some people do set up accounts speciafically for swinging and a non-mesenger account, a good give away is an account set up the same date as the advert, or dont have a msn profile set up.
Its not fool proof, but tis a start...
On the few adverts I do reply to when there is that something... I tend to go on how many times i've seen it refreshed... if its about after a month then its potentially real, or they never reply and just enjoy the photos that come in, lol.
The funny thing is after 4 emails directing me to another site.... I dont get them any more... I guess i'm on the "dont even bother" list as I dont pay for the posibility of sex on the web as I never signed up, lol, if I was going to pay... i'd rather pay directly to a real person!
I've just seen this but haven't been looking at the ads for a week or so, so my apologies if this has already been mentioned.
I think it's a good idea - it lets you know how long people have been members for without searching for their profile. What is surprising is how many new members there seem to be based on the joined dates in the ads I've looked at today.
Mark,
Can I come and help you eat all this choccie???? please :P
yeah great idea, might get more luck now!
mmmmm.....
I've just noticed a lot of adverts sudenly poping up with older start dates....
However, the "groups" of adverts are being updated within a 1-2 min period and each one has exactly the same style of editing on the photographs (eg, 4 adverts all with a white square removed (the other groups are the black spray paint and the blue spray paint), update times 23:21, 23:21, 23:21, ) all joined jan 2005.
Perhaps im being overly paranoid, but it might be worth a purge on all "users" on the advert system with no log in for the last say 2 or 3 months... after all if they are legit they can always set up a new "user" account with the same email as before.
great idea
might help to weedle out school holidaying teenagers and general idiots who post ads to collect pix and waste peoples time and effort
well done mark and team
