Was thinking earlier about seeing pics of people you meet online - having been meeting people from the internet for a few years I realised that I have only ever met one person that I had not forst seen a picture of - the fact she turned out to be stunning and I still occasionally see her was a bonus - but my question is do you insist on seeing a facial pic of someone before you meet them or are you happy with the impression you get from chats on the phone or msn etc??

Tend to ask for a pic simply because I don't want to walk off with the wrong person.
I remember years ago when I first started meeting people off the internet when I agreed to meet a lady in a bar. She said she was blonde and would wear a red dress.

Well we don’t insist as such, I mean its not like we say ‘no pics, no meet’, but we do really prefer face pics of people we chat to online eventually.
This is not because of any ‘looks’ issues, but more because its nice to put a face to a message / voice.

when i do my meets and invite 10 single guys i never ask any 1 of them for a pic
but when we usally go with cpls we only swop pics after a fem on fem phone check mind you do that because b4 now we have had our own pic back of the both of us saying it was them we sent back saying thats funny we look like that and already have shagged lol

It's not all that long since self pics were the exception rather than the rule. Most of the people I met at that time after internet introductions, I'd not seen a pic of beforehand. Meetings went well socially at least and usually more so. It kind of added to the excitement. Only one girl claimed not to be who she really was (i.e. the person I was supposed to be meeting) once she clapped eyes on me... 
These days it's too easy to rule people out on the back of the internet equivalent of a passport mugshot and I've seen so many out of focus 'glammed up' pics I started to think my eyes were going funny. Not on SH of course. Mind you, am I the only man who finds a woman's face (even obscured), more arousing than her fanny? You'd think so, judging by the ratio of normal:genitalia shots on the woman-for-men ads.
