can we have a postcode competition to help us figure out where the hell the people live who advertise in the photo ads section .
the reason why i say this is that unless you live in that particular postcode area you will not know where other people are from, even tho they may only be about 10-25 miles away which is local and easy to get to .
i myself live in thew county middlesex, which boreders surrey, london, berkshire, buckinghamshire with the m25, m1 and m4 all very close but i have no idea what the surrey, london,berkshire or buckinghamshire postcodes are so now the photo ads section are no use now .
no doubt this will get locked , but answers and peoples thoughts are appreciated .

Why should it get locked? I have to say that postcode idea is the biggest load of pants I have come across. You might as well have the ads in Greek!!

'All it's done for me is show me the people who are close to me. That's no good, I know what a London postcode looks like. I now need to learn all the others around the country.'
I don't see what use the postcode thing is anyway as so many people have admitted to typing in an incorrect one. People's locations are there, under their avatar (if they choose to give them, which some don't). If you're searching and someone fits all your other search criteria, wouldn't it be easy enough to send them a message and ask whereabouts in the country they are? Or you could do a postcode search (Google UK postcodes) - there's no need to learn all the postcodes.

The prob is when search through Photo Ads and as a non driver i like to know people are close to me as thats one of my main conditions in meeting. I dont want to travel half way up the country to meet someone.
I could look at a location and say yes or know before looking at anything else, and i would think other did that as well.
Why i should not have to bother someone asking there location before going further is beyond me. and if i message them and them find after they live miles away i am wasting there time.

I don't think you'd seem like a time waster just by messaging someone to clarify their location. You could make a point of saying that when you ask.
The new owners have obviously changed it for a reason and it's not looking like they're going to change it, so you have to make the best of what is available to you. If you can't be bothered, that's up to you - but I don't think that commenting/complaining about it will help you, to be honest.

I would suspect and I have some knowledge on this . the software they have installed is like most dating sites and runs on milleage from your location this an only be done if the postcode system is in place as thats how the software calculates the distance

i was not talking about the forum where the avatars and locations are, i was talking about the photo ads .
plus i tried the postcode search thing it does not work properly , just put the town, city, or county is so much easier than a 3 digit postcode .

I've actually put our new postcode in, but it covers quite a large area so I'm not really worried. Besides, if anyone turns up unexpectedly and says they have seen me on here, I'll scare the shit out of them
