Dont go for labels here...
Recently went to Next and spent £120 and walked out with a pair of jeans a shirt and a pair of shoes...
I though some time after........Crikey that lot cost a fortune....
Bought a pair of jeans a couple of weks ago similar style to the ones I bought from Next.....£16....
Much more sensibly priced..
Same with our kids......They have never been given named brand stuff and therefore dont crave them..
I don't 'do' designer labels for the sake of it, if at all.
Also there is a big difference between an item of clothing that is expensive because it's made from superior materials and a shirt that has the name Tommy Hillfiger written all over it, but is made out of the same material and is manufactured in the same factory used by Burtons.
With one you get what you pay for, and the other you are lining the pockets and advertising on behalf of a brand.
I dont wear designer labels, mainly because at size 16/18, I find it difficult to find them that fit.
However, I will pay around £60-£90 on trainers. Because they feel comfortable. And last well. I won't wear cheap trainers.
I do sometimes spend an extra bit on shoes/boots. But only if I'm going to wear them. For work I'll spend £60 on Cat boots, as they last really well, and I'm on my feet most of the day!!
I'm not really fussed what I buy, as long as I feel good in it or it does the job for what Im doing at the time...
I needed to look reasonably smartish for work so tried to make an effort.
I do have some favourite stores tho... river island and per una, majority of my stuff I get at supermarkets though, like George at Asda.... (he was the designer for Next I believe).
My son is a pain for buying designer gear........ he wasn't brought up on labels so why he's so into now I dont know!
I do buy good shoes 40 - 50 quid or so, like my feet to be comfortable... and I dont possess a pair of trainers or jeans. Must treat myself sometime!

What makes me laugh about some of this designer gear is the fakes you see, young girls with Burberry or Chanel handbags, or blokes in Stone Island or Prada jackets & jumpers that would cost a fortune in the shops, but at Bovingdon market or any market they knock the fakes out for next to nothing, do these people not realise cheap fakes look worse than a normal coat or jumper. (I'm sure you know what I mean)
I wouldn't buy something just because of the brand name, and when I spot others in (top to toe) branded clothes I do tend to think that they are just advertising the fact that they are suseptable to sales techniques.
That said, I wouldn't not buy something that fitted well just because it was a certain brand (it would be a last season item purchased from an outlet store though lol).
Most of my clothes are "disposable" from the like of primark, tesco and asda, to go with a few staple pieces from Dorethy Perkins........ but if I want something smart I will go to the likes of Next, Principles, Monsoon or Precis Petites and try to find something that will not easily date so I get plenty of wear out of it.
As far as footwear is concered I live in trainers, and as I am a size 5 I can buy them cheap from the childrens section. When I need a new pair of shoes or boots I am willing to pay over £100 to find a pair that looks good and has comfortable support and padding for the soles.

think i own 1 branded pair of tracksuit bottoms, pink adidas fleecy ones that i wear wen its cold in the house other than that i dont wear designer gear matalan primark peacocks asda usually where i shop
my son has some designer gear mainly just oufits hes been bought for presents or if i hit the sales and think its a good bargain although i dont buy him branded trainers i try to get plain black ones where i can cos he goes through them so quickly (3 pairs in the last month)
Every day shoes for myself never pay more than 25 quid but heels and boots are a different matter most expensive i think were black lace up thigh boots for £80
