hubby has one, I didn't like it when he had a ball closure ring, in fact if he wanted to get anywhere near my bottom he had to take it out! Now he has a 4mm smooth segment ring which is better. However i wouldn't say it improves things for me and i don't like metal on the back of my throat.

just a little word of warning about them a friend of mine has one & after a night on the beer at my place i needed the loo,my mate had been in there before me & i had splashes all over my floor

I had mine done a few years ago and have never looked back. The piercing was done under local anaesthetic, they use a dental anaesthetic as an aerosol, a quick squirt in the eurethra.
No discomfort as the anaesthetic wore off, but I did nearly pass out the first time I took a leak....ouch.
No more than minor discomfort for about 10 days, use a condom during sex for the first couple of weeks, it holds everything in place.
No probs with making sure the wound is kept clean, drink LOTS of water and stay of alcohol for the first few days. Healthy urine is pretty sterile and will keep everything nice and clean.
Trade up to a thicker ring after about 3 months, get your piercer to insert the 1st retread, its a bit nerve racking.
After that go as big as you fancy, but over 5mm /15mm is a bit cumbersome, Oh and do it in gentle steps.
Have fun and enjoy.....Ive never looked back, and the ladies (and gentlemen) seem to love it.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help especially Mrs Smoker Jim and Reiki. I am now certainly going to get it done next week and see how it goes.
Kcshaggers - you'll have to come back and tell us how it was and then we can we will do the same. I don't quite understand why I am so excited about someone inflicting pain on me but that is another story......

yeah its alright. not sure if i should regret it now (got one for about 10 yrs) as peeing standing up is a lot of fun too.....and thats what you probably will have to say goodbye to.
cant really say if it makes sex better, as it has its up and downsides (eg for some ladies in some positions it can be uncomfortable), but at least you always can take it out (unlike that pentagram tattoo on ones forehead
) . in the beginning and when you put in a bigger size ring it feels very nice. its also nice to take it ou once in a whilet, as its different again etc. all in all never had problems with it.....but i do miss peeing my name in the snow without dribbling
