i'm not sure if this is old news, or relevant, or whatever, but i thought it worth a post . . .
has a FREE people search facility that will more than likely, with a vague name and location, come up with a record detailing your full name, full postal address, telephone number, mobile phone number, a small map of your location, multimap-like route planner, and links to various other kinds of personal info, like the value of your house, who else lives there, etc etc etc.
if this is an issue for anyone ((( public sector workers? people using real names and locations on profiles, email addresses, etc etc ))) you can remove it by . . . .
search your name, find your record, and click the remove record link to the bottom left of your record.
if that doesn't work ((( it told me this feature was for admin only when i first tried to use it? ))) email a removal request to and copy it to i got an email back with a removal activation link.
just thought it worth a mention?

Cheers Neil!
I have just done mine too!
I have just removed mine,
BUT
The details are about 5 years out of date!!!
'kin ell ! That's scary ! I've removed mine I hope. What's the point of being ex directory if people can just get hold of all that info so easily ffs !
The infomation is retrieved from the electoral register.
If you don't want your personal info to be sold on, make sure you tick the relevant box next time you have to fill out the electoral register forms.

I'm sure I've always done that so it shows they take no notice of it
I have been aware of this site for some time!
My understanding is that all the information on the site is taken from the Electrol Roll of 2003. It was supposed to have been updtated to use data from the 2004 Electrol Roll, but for whatever reason - this has not happened yet - even though, according to the site it is supposed to have happened by now.
Although it is a free site, you have to bear in mind that for a nominal fee, there are plenty of sites that will offer up to date information on anyone! Add to that the fact that anyone is entitled to walk into any public reference library and look at an up to date Electrol Roll for that town/city for free.
So basically, if someone wants to find you, it is quite easy and cheap to do so.
Privacy - a thing of the past!!!
Was ready the thread from the link above. What was this "4T shit" that happened a year ago?
