we have noticed that one or two adds state that the advertiser is not a full member and so cannot make contact . what do they mean, i thought this was a free site and you could pm whatever you liked. does it mean that if you haven`t paid for the `extra` service you don`t get mail. tried reading all the info section but it didn`t seem to answer my question take care deb n jon

It says this:
'To become a member of this site you do not need to make a payment. However, in order to gain unrestricted access to all parts of this site you will need to upgrade your membership.'
Free members receive mail but can't answer by PM.
hi ,
it used to be a completely free site, they still market it as a free site, however, its free to join, you just cant do nowt once your in.
all those members who were here pre dec 12th 05 was it or 06 who had full free membership got to keep it. The would have to pay for extras though.
those who joined after that date signed up for free but if they wanted to reply to ads, read emails or enter chat rooms thy have to pay a membership and have the option of adding the extras package to it.
i didnt know it said on profiles who was paid up and who wasnt.

It was December 2005.
I thinkthey mean that people have actually said in the text of their ad. that they aren't full members.
so to be exact people we have mailed can`t reply but they can contact us through our profile and mail us back 2. i take it that it perfectly in order to put an email address in a pm

That sounds too good to be true - another site I was a "free" member of moderated those out.
Let's face it the site owner has got to eat, that's the way of business.
Plim smile cool
I think you can put whatever you want in a pm, in fact it's the only place you are allowed to put phone numbers and email addresses.
If you haven't paid you can only receive mail, but not reply to it, unless someone is extra clever and manages to get an email addie into the mail they send. Most addresses and phone numbers are edited out.
free members cant send pms, they cant post in the forum, cant get into chat, cant view rude pictures or the gallery,, they cant write any text in thier profile,
they can -
view profiles,
send winks
put ads up/view ads
view none rude picturs
i recently set another account up but didnt pay straight away (had to wait til my bank card come in post) and email addresses do get past the system lots of times some times they are edited out sometimes cleverly diquised from approx 70 mails i received in the first 24 hours) i would say 20 of them had gettin their emial addresses in and the ad did not state i was a full member or not
I tend to report all ads I see that ask for contact details as the advertiser is not a full member..
dunno if I'm doing the right thing or not..
Its always risky giving your emal address to such people as they could well be spammers just looking to harvest email addresses..
I can confirm from a non-full member that I know that you can only send winks. You can receive PMs but email addresses, pics and phone numbers are censored and if you state in your ad that you are unable to mail back and they should include contact details, your ad will be deleted.
You also can't view pics on the gallery, profiles or ads, reply to the forum or enter the chatroom.
The free membership is just an enticement to get you to buy into the full thing. After a while of free membership you may receive a PM offering 7 days free trial but you have to give your card details. After the 7 days your card will be charged at the normal rate for membership unless you inform your bank to stop it.
My opinion on this? No comment! rolleyes
Side tracking a little bit....can a 'non-member' attend a munch. A non-member being one as described above.

They wouldnt be able to post in the LMU forum to add their name to the munch thread and express interest.

If it was done by a full member on their behalf and other members going to the munch knew who they were?
People going to munches must be full members who have posted a few times in the forum. Theoretically there is no way a non member can attend a munch or not a full member.

No, a non-member cannot attend a munch. They can go to socials, which are run at the discretion of the organsier, but not a munch. I think are are probably meaning non-paying members and I guess that this is possible, but highly unlikely.
They would have to be a full member of the site to put their names down and then again to confirm that they are still attending (when the organiser asks for confirmation) however, if there membership ran out a few days before the event, then in effect, they could get to a munch and not be a full member.
Does that answer your question mikensusi2020 or have I just waffled as usual lol
