right,i have a 2003 vectra diesel the past cpl of months it has developed a wobble when turning left and when i go past 45 mph till it reaches 60mph and then it seems to go had everthing checked underneath but no one can find anything worn .took it to bristol st where they took it out 4 a test drive with me in it.......conclusion was it could b my drop links and my tyres which i have replaced ......wheels have been ballanced again just this week and it is still the same ....would be gratefull if anyone could shed some light on this problem for me thanks.............
Are you a member of the AA or RAC or similar? They do pre-purchase examinations - I'm sure they could be asked to check it our for you?
Does it pull to one side when you brake as well? If it does it may indicate your shock absorber on the other side (I believe) needs replacing. You can test this by braking fairly gently on a straight section of road with no other traffic about biggrin
Do get the car checked though - vibration doesn't come from nothing - something is wobbling or rubbing or bouncing - and none of those activities is good for a car.

told ya not to gan dogging over cobbled streets lol
I believe this model vectra and earlier have had long term wobble problems and that the dealers have been useless at sorting them out. Cant go wrong with asking a motoring organisation to have a look.
You said you've had the tyres changed and balanced? did you get the tracking done too? dunno
I have shakes n wobbles on my vectra and uneven tyre wear and both occasions i have had the tyres changes the traking was out b at least 2 degrees.
They couldnt find any other problem with the steering or suspension and concluded it was the constant use of speed bumps and cushions that are on and around my estate and recomended traking checks evry 3 months to see if it moves.
If u wish to prompt your mechanic to take u seriously ask if it might be:
unbalanced wheels
tyres
buckled rims
worn wheel bearings
worn roll bar bushes
worn bottom ball joints
worn/badly adjusted track rod ends
loose wheel nuts
warped discs
binding front brakes
An easy way to see if its a tyre wheel problem is to swap em front to back cos that orta change the behaviour if its them at fault.
Personally id discount tyre problems cos it happens when u turn. Bushes bearings and ball joints are far more likely. Specially as we are on a swinging site lol.
wheel bearings sounds like the fault or the flange (where the wheel bolts onto) these can wearout at high miles an cause steering pulls, wobbles an even nocking sounds in extreme cases hopefully you get it sorted one way or another
A friend of mine had a similar problem with his Vectra. Turned out to be worn shock bushes IIRC. He had them upgraded to tougher ones and the problem went away
