I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with my MSN Messenger.
For the last week i havent been able to block anyone, I get a message saying that this person cannot be blocked, please try again later. Also, if i delete someone, they're automatically added again next time i log in.
Its driving me maaaaaaaaaaaaad. banghead Apparently Ginger Jo is having the same problem with her messenger so i just wondered if anyone else had had it and knew wether it is possible to cure it.
Shelly XXX
Just managed to successfully block Morbius biggrin
What version of Messenger are you using? MSN or Windows Messenger ??
I have MSN Messenger version 6.2.
I got 6.2 too Calista
Been using messenger with same address for over a year, never had a problem with it until now

Im running the same version but ive not got any problems with it dunno
Sounds like you've reached your blocklist limit, so you'll need to delete some people from your blocklist.
If you click on tools>options>privacy you'll see your blocklist then click the "view" button and this will show you who still has you on their contact list.
You'll be able to delete anyone who doesn't still have you on their contact list by right clicking their name in the blocklist and selecting delete.
sussexguy, I LOVE YOUUUUUUU kiss
Its really been bugging me, i was gutted, couldnt eat or sleep or anything all week neutral
im soooooooooo happyyyyyyyyyyy
As a hijack (now Shelly's solved her problem) has anyone changed the sound option on Messenger and are you having trouble keeping it?
I have different sounds for someone logging on and when I receive a message, so I updated to 6.2 and then went off to try and change the sounds, which I mannaged. But when I restart the computer I'm back to the original messenger sounds again. banghead
Anyone any ideas or do I need to wait for the appropriate windows patch (again rolleyes )?
Tis a bug, easiest thing to do is copy the sounds you want to use to C:Program FilesMSN Messenger either delete or rename the old .wav files and then rename your files to , etc

A far easier way than blocking people is simply to to put a tick in the "only people on my allow list can see my online status and send me messages" box in the privacy settings. Delete a contact, it deletes them from your "allow list", ergo they can't see when you're online and can't send you messages. It saves all that messing around with the "blocked users" list.
i only talk to one person on msn so blocking is hardly a problem , works great for me although there is one odd thing, if ive got the web cam on and we close a window or turn cam off the pcs have a habit of crashing, whats that al about then?
msm is so slow for me so i stick to cool
mind you the new version kept crashing my system so i reinstalled the old one again
