psp Question

Just a quick question, does the new psp play the old ps2 games as the little darling wants one for christmas and i don't want to have to buy another 30 bloody games... banghead

No I'm afarid it doesn't. Totally differnt format, games no longer on cd/dvd sized discs... bastards!

Thats correct the psp soes not takde cds or dvds... so can not use the ps2 games
But a lot of the PS2 games are coming out on the PSP... but does mean you have to buy them all over again.
But the PSP is still brillient.... bye one.. hehheehe That is if you can get one

They're releasing PS3 in Spring 2006. Maybe better to wait until then and skip the psp for this xmas. PS3 is supposed to be backwards compatible so all old PS games should work on it. Hopefully it is better than PS2 which would let you play the games from PS1 but won't let you save them. dunno

What was the point of that?
You can actually save PS1 games on your PS2 if you have a PS1 memory card. The PS3 is backwards compatible with the games but not with the older hardware like controllers etc.

spring release is ( as far as I am aware) only japan, with usa following in summer, realistically probably be next xmas(ish) before we see for backwards compatability, again. as far as I know it is only with ps2 games not original ps ones.
have seen a dev kit ( friend of a friend) and it looks like it will be an awesome piece of hardware when we do finally see it

Screw that, get an Xbox, a good console. Faster and more powerful than a PS2 and has more features. Is cheaper too with overall costs.

great graphics but dont know yet how to use the rest ov it
