Physics --- nothing bloody useless subject....

You use physics just by being on Earth. Gravity and all that. Everyone uses physics.

I use quadratic equations from time to time at work. Along with most of the linear algebra they shoved into my head at university (I've even come across a use for eigenvalues - never saw that coming). And bits of calculus. And each year it gets worse.
God, that's sad. If you meet me, just pretend I'm unemployed, OK?
dont mention latin, i know 'canis et in atrium' or something like that means the dog is in the hall.
other than that.......3 years of my school life wasted. lol
I not really sure if I've ever used a quadratic equation (of infact very sure what one is). I was top in my class for maths which shows either I've got a very short memory or went to a very crap school.
I was in remedial Latin which meant I was also in remedial PE (who knows the wonders of school timetabling). In my school remedial PE was trampolining alternated with Scottish Country Dancing both of which have proved to be useful to me later life. rolleyes Unlike the Latin.
I can make really crap ties with initials embroided on them, now there's a skill I've never needed. rolleyes

I found an old examination paper and did a thread about it early this year:

I've just now been back to look at at it and was surprised how much I enjoyed reading it again.
I can honestly say that I can think of nothing that I was taught turned out to be wasted. If I could change anything it would be that I would have like to have learned more languages.
I know I might be very wrong but I think education of forty or fifty years ago was designed to make us think. I mean, we're still producing doctors and dentists and lawyers but I think our education system is failing lots of our kids.
