Is it ok to drive them to a garage, or do i have to try and get a man in :rascal:
Russ doesnt do cars, so im on my own with this one lol
Nicky

You can attempt to move them.....
The brakes may give some resistance at first....
If they dont free off when the car is moved for a couple of mtrs then I suggest doing the job on the drive..
Thanks,your advice is much appreciated.

No problemo biggrin
With regards the Clio, I would be inclined to look at the exhaustsystem, and about the Merc problem, could you maybe park up where you don't need to apply the handbrake?
My old Golf started sounding really loud at speed, especially at the back. Turned out to be worn bearings.

Yep.........
A wheel bearing fault is always an option

Need to get them un-stuck first.
I did think of that when i parked them up but was worrid the kids might move em about, and they are heavy cars so once they start moving wouldnt be easy stoping them
As soon as i find a man that can :rascal: ,and they can be drivern they are going on ebay ...last part of my old life to be outed, and good bloody riddence lol
Clio.....
Does the car seem to pick up speed as normal does the engine vibrate? As it could be an engine misfire. There are an endless list of things it could be try to be more discritive???????
Merc.......
How old are the merc's in question? As the slightler older models have H/brake shoes within the rear discs if this is the case 9/10 a quick jerk (No pun intended) will realease the h/brake. If the mercs are newer I find it hard to beleive that the rear pads have stuck at all.
Nick
20 yrs experince.....of CARnul knowledgesmile
Is then noise there only when it is being driven or is the same noise there when the car is stationary with the engine running also try just reving the engine whilst its stationary to see what it sounds like
The mercs are a G reg 4matic estate and the other is a M reg tdi estate.
Having thought about it both been sat for about a year, with just minor movement around my drive if that makes any difrence dunno
Nicky
As anyone who watches Star Trek knows, all problems of a mechanical nature can be fixed by simply running auxiliary power through a Dilithium matrix and thence to the main deflector, reversing tractor beam polarity may also help in extreme circumstances.
For best effect this should be said in an appalling Scottish accent.
By the way, my power steering is fecked.. rolleyes

been for it's mot,and failed..the noise coming from the back is a wheel bearing(what i told her it could be a week ago).
anyway it's getting fixed on thursday, that and the trackrod end ball joint £85 and free mot..
thank you for all your suggestions and help..

My suggestion:
Get a new cars, a nice pretty one x
For the past fortnight or so my car has been making noises it shouldnt. When I reach 40mph the engine has been louder than it should. I take it to 45/50mph in 4th gear and obviously gets louder. However, when I put it into 5th gear at this point, it is still as loud. When I reach 60/70mph, it sounds like I'm driving it in 4th gear still...get my drift? I just wondered why this is happening? It's as if it's not recognising 5th gear or something?
Before this started happening, me and Mr C could here a noise from the back of the car which, to me, sounded like a plate spinning on it's rims on a floor. This seems to have settled now.
I dunno if it helps but the car is a 51 reg Clio.
Thanx for any help or suggestions u can provide me.

no no no no
If you reverse tractor beam polarity you might set of a resonance frequency in the warp core thus setting off the quantum torpedos.............
n you dont want to do that
That was said with a silver visor over my eyes lol
Oh and think i need to chech my suspension bushes
goose and stormy do you know nothing rolleyes
you wont set any " quantum torpedos " off unless your on the " Defiant"
and "metafasic shealding" should help to contane the blast anyway

Ah, but if you first harmonise the frequency with the warp coil dampers, you will be able to negate the wave form oscillation and prevent any such occurrence.
Come on laddi this is all basic stuff  we’ll have a wee dram and I’ll talk you through it.
