Hello All
I would love to get into the Swinging scene so I have found myself wondering:
14 years ago I fell down some stairs and broke my back. As a result of that it has left me confined to a wheelchair. All the important bits work fine though, the only thing I cannot do is swing from the chandelier or dive off the top of a wardrobe.
Therefore the question I would like to ask is:
Because of my disability would it put off all you couples and single ladies from including me in the sexual get-together’s, liaisons, and clubs?
I would sincerely appreciate frank and honest answers please.

In answer to your question, I don't think your disability would put anyone off of including you in sexual get togethers
I've only been to one proper swinging club tho .... and there were a lot of steep stairs to negotiate there. So in some places you could well be restricted to the ground floor (which with my teeny bit of insight, it's not a boring place to be restricted to) - the club i was in for instance, had the bar, a lounge area, a couple of play rooms and a wet area. In fact, I think I spent the whole time down there ....... mainly cos I couldn't work out how to get out the jacuzzi with my dignity still in tact
As for other get togethers on here - you would be welcome to attend, the only thing that would be a problem, once again is access - but most places are fine, certainly the munches ..... not sure about clubs tho
Would have to find out about that beforehand etcYour disability really isn't a huge issue with people

I know two people from SH who use wheelchairs and participate in the swinging scene with no problems other than the accessibility issues that Misschief mentioned.
One thing I have to say about the swinger community here is that it's, on the whole, sooooo much less judgemental most groups of people you'd meet outside the "scene".
All I can say is jump in, and fill yer boots !!!

I've seen a number of ad's from experienced swingers with various disabilities - it doesnt seem to stop them.
Go for it - having a good sense of humour helps on this site

I am disabled, although to look at you wouldn't know it, but I have an artificial leg. Not really and issue till I get naked....... :shock: which is not a pretty sight anyway LOL
Ok I know that my disablity would not be so much of an issue as yours, but I've never had any bad reactions at all.
*mind you I don't really *swing* as such............maybe just 'drift gently in the breeze'

Joe, your disability shouldn't stop you from meeting people and having lots of fun - social and otheriwse . I would say however, that, thinking about the clubs I go to, there might be a problem with wheelchair access.... e.g. some of the rooms are up or downstairs and certainly all the clubs I can think of are not on one level. I don't know whether clubs are covered in the Disability Discrimination Act (or whatever it's called), but that's the only issue I can think of... and it may not even be an issue if you don't want to heavily get into the club scene. I can't see you having a problem attending munches and other private functions

I personally always see the person and not the disability. To me its about personality more so than anything else. Its already been said that people who swing are more open minded and a lot less likely to discriminate against disabilities. This I think is very true.
