Almost Single........to be honest thats exactly what i believe it means.....don't think there is anything sinister about it.....if someone was married and they wanted to lie.....wouldn't they just put single down in their profile.....no questions asked!......put down "almost single".....and questions would be asked....and if they have nothing to hide....they're give an answer.I think this is all fussing over nothing!

i think it comes down to PL's point that basically your profile you can be whoever you want to be and its not sensible to jump into bed with someone based on profile alone, i am sure there is only a minority who would even consider this.
there are people who arent completely honest in their profile and i am in no way pointing fingers, saying this is the majority or anything of the sort, just that you cant go by someones profile only,

Why question almost single and not almost divorced aswell?
My point is someone who is almost single may be in a similar boat to someone who is allmost divorced.
ie: they are or have split up with a partner who they lived with but for financial reasons or accomadation reasons or even for the sake of the children to name a few points they still live under the same roof.
We arent kids after all where we move from one relationship to the next with ease, if you have been together a long time splitting up takes time you may have the house in joint names. So I genuinely can not see anythign sinister about being almost single

well not necessarily, just cos someone has divorced on their profile doesnt mean they are single, same as someone almost divorced could have a partner, it was pretty much 3 n half years before my divorce came through.
like i said their is ambiguity in a lot of the choices on the profiles
