After much re-ordering, shuffling and previewing on my MP3 player I've realised that mixing the tracks up works best and, at this result, I give to you the contents of the first CD.......

Artwork due from Mozzerella in a few days time and CD's start rolling off the production line around the same time ready for the Mids Munch. If you know you can copy CD's and you'll see others from here then helping the distribution that way would be great.....

Money, however generous, is really not an option !
First plan is to get something like 20 - 25 copies made up and taken to the Midland munch - I know theres folks from north and south also there so maybe a little help in propagating the CD around will take place ? I'm sure some of those travelling to this one will be at others and could maybe try and get some made to pass out at those. Would be nice for the forum itself it rally round for this bit ?
After that it's a tough call. I'd not expect people to just drop me their addresses (quite a fair stance to this guy's mind) so anybody with a good plan would be great.
The first step, it's creation has been done - now phase two is underway - it's a start, gman, so lets see where it goes from here !

The alternative is, of course that we cancel the CD now and each person goes and buys 15 albums to hear the tracks we all want to share with each other - just to see if they even like the artist.....but thats not real life.
Real life is that in the compiling of this CD {not being sold for monetary gain in any way I might add} I have bought two albums already and I'm checking out another that I would never have parted cold hard cash for. I'd be amazed if the same thing didn't happen for others that get the CD - and thats my aim.
I'm not doing this to get big nasty corporate A&R's to fall but to share music with others that would never have heard them otherwise. They can then invest in a CD or two that hits the right note with them.
Do you know - the fact you've dropped this into the thread on here to make me feel guilty rather than PM'ing me to discuss this has *really* hurt me. Don't people think they can talk to each other any more, LadyWA ? On here of all places too.
I'm so close to junking the CD now after this and you really don't know how I'd feel at letting people down.

Oh well said Carpy ...... After following the original music thread and hearing everyone raving about these songs, most of which I have never even heard of, I am really looking forward to hearing the CD. But I certainly wouldn't have gone out and bought the 15 albums (or even singles)... I would've just let the thread pass and fade from memory.
Once I have heard the tracks then I will be able to make my mind up as to the singers/bands I would like to hear more of. Maybe re-read the original thread to see who recommended it and ask them for other ideas of music along the same lines.
Sadly I do have to admit that my knowledge of music, as much as I love it, is extremely limited - not helped by sharing my house with 2 small girls!

As for post somewhere above...lets talk royalties from kazaar etc ....librarys that lend CD's for 80p a fortnight for all to copy.....Jesus what rot.

A different thought process, maybe a side you hadn't thought of, raised to make you think, for all your comments what you propose is actually illegal, full stop. Whether you intend to make money or not, I have no problem with it, I was just surprised you would shout about it in an open Forum...OH HUM, I shall refrain from having an opinion, a joke or comment.

Have to say similar thoughts had crossed our minds, not so much about the legality as we are all guilty of copying Cd's for the car etc. but for the open way it has been bandied around.
Personally, I (Stu) also have to say that increasingly people are put down, attacked or even abused for passing an opinion. I thoroughly despair at that notion, it runs counter to the idea of a Forum, and it is a form of censorship, because it puts people off playing a part in the community.

When pirated software has been promoted on the site, we have closed and deleted the thread, and advised the poster why by PM.
LadyWA was correct to bring this to our attention, and we should all now wait for Mark's response.
There is a strict policy that no illegal activities are promoted, whatever the nature. If producing the CD is illegal, then the site cannot sanction it by allowing it to be promoted on here.

Carpy, even if this does not get finished, the responses show it will not change the way we feel about you being prepared to do this for us. This may sound condescending, but it really is the thought that counts.

I would add though that you may note I gave no abuse to LadyWA but was simply honest as to how I felt. Without talking out of school, I'd had a lovely evening and was feeling in a very open and vulnerable state - the comments caught me offguard and hence my reaction.

Sorry, if I upset anyone (and that certainly goes for you too, Lady WA). Perhaps I was more volatile than normal as I am actually very placid. Mind you, Lord knows that my patience has been sorely tried lately
(and that is NOT a reference to anyone on this site).
Of course I was aware of the copyright issues involved here. I just felt it was a little tactless to raise them in the manner that they were. I leapt to Carpathian's defence because he is a mate and I know how this has been a labour of love for him. I felt bad for him having it thrown back in his face like that. Again, sorry if I over-reacted.
As for the chill pills - I agree that people can get a little worked up sometimes, but I do think that is often in jest. I know that I have been accused of attacking someone that I was just having a good laugh with (apparently we were the only ones not worried about it). So, a lot of the tensions and teasing in here are entirely for fun and part of what makes the Cafe entertaining.

I know that you did not abuse the said LadyWA, but a few of the subsequent posts left me feeling uncomfortable, so I can only imagine how she felt! She raised a valid point I felt and I reckon it may have been out of concern for you and the site.
Suppose we all try to protect SH in our own way cos we all like being here so much, don't so much agree with the style it was done, but I am always willing to think the best of people (ie the means don't always justify the ends..if you know what I mean... :lol: ).
Just nice to see some people prepared to say" I made a mistake" and move on...reckon my chill pills had an effect

This is true and if an outcome of this is that we natter more then no bad thing, Stu ! Good from bad, and all that. You're right though - we do all care about SH, just in varying ways.....
As for the photo's - thats a cruel thing to drop idley into a conversation - next thing you know you'll be dropping me a PM and tempting me further.....
