&quot;WINK&quot; problem

Hello to all.
I am very new to this and as yet have Ive not been lucky enough to meet anyone.. ( over one year now ). All the while i have been looking at profiles and i have been sending a 'wink' to show my interest as i feel it shows someone that i have been looking.
The problem is that everyone replys with a standard message of
""Thanks for your wink , whilst the attention is flattering could you please take the time to write a more detailed personal message in your own words, after having a look at my profile to make sure i'm actually looking for your type.""
I always read the profiles and i dont just send a wink to anyone.
If people do not like them, can they not state on there profile not to send them a WINK as general members only have a certain amount to send in a day.
Is it to much trouble or am i just doing this all wrong and give up..

I think the problem is that most people dont tend to read what has been written they just go straight for the pictures and think yeah I like the look of that wink

:lol2: Most people also tend to think that a wink is a bit on the lazy side and prefer a more personal message biggrin

Dont give up... You get back what you put in, so if you get yourself a drink and some chocolate biscuits, pull up a chair and join in, it wont be long before you wonder how to make a 24 hour day a bit longer :lol2:

the messages you are recieving are automated respomses to your wink.........many people on here dont like to be sent winks so havethis option set, those that you have winked wil be unaware that you have even winked them so maybe when you get this response you should take a bit of time to read their profile and then send a personalised message to them and take it from there.........the subject of winks has been debated before........I will try to find the thread for you so you can see it for yourself......

You can set your profile to automatically repond to winks, the reply is the one you've been getting. The recipient doesn't even know they have been winked at. When they were introduced the winks were very annoying and so this system was brought in - there are many threads on the subject if you search for them in the cafe. Might I suggest you take a little time to reply to each ad or profile individually, I think you'll find you get a better response.

Believe me. i do read the profiles. and i know its my own fault. but i am new to this and the messages i do write to folks i never get a reply. well. not all of them. And i am a bit shy too, which i know dont help.. But if there is any heads reading this. can these people i send winks too at least know they are getting them. i could of lost out on loads of fun.

Maybe settle yourself in the forums a bit more?? Look at the first message you put up there - and got 4 replies straight away biggrin

Like others have already stated, the replies your getting to winks are automated responses to the wink you send and is sent by the site not the person you send the wink to, you have the option not to recieve winks in your settings and most choose not to recieve winks, so the people you have sent winks to will not even know you sent one in the first place so it dosen't matter if they read this thread or not, the simple solution is to sent a private message with a bit about yourself and what your looking for and at least you'll know they'll recieve it. biggrin
