As some of you know, I take drama workshops (teaching people who are old enough to know better, to show off).
Anyway, we were talking characterisation today and wanted to use the example of this television 'personality' who used to appear on our televisions in the 70's and early 80's. Unfortunately, i wasn't much help as I couldn't remember her name. This is where your help comes in (thanks for sticking with it so far!)
In my fogged up memories, she was called Molly, wore crazy old lady make-up and very flamboyant clothing, always wore a satin turban, was posh (although to a lanacashire infant, this could just mean she had a southern accent) and I think was something to do with the Arts. As a small child, she looked ANCIENT to me but that doesn't necessarily mean she was.
Is this ringing bells with anyone?
Molly Sugden?
Sounds more like Barbara Cartland to me confused
Hmmmmm....
Random help I give easily. lol
e.g. The current Exchange rate of the Euro to the Pound is - Don't wear turquoise with green - always hold the right end of a match, etc.
More directed help needs more context, however.
Did she appear in any particular TV programme?
Did she have a catch-phrase of any kind?
Did she appear with any other people that we might know?
What was her connection with the arts? Any particular art that you can remember?
Hi Ruby,
Molly Parkin is probably who you are thinking of wink
Kind regards
Paul
Paul, that is EXACTLY who I was thinking of!
Thank you so much for unravelling the impoverished memories of a 3yr old!

No problem Ruby ...you're welcome wink
Kind regards
Paul
