I've just had the slightly odd experience of reading a post by a lady I am 95% certain I know (from a previous work life) - I'm not going to talk to her because, frankly, it would be dead weird, but I'm curious, has anyone else had this experience or similar? Maybe spotting their Accountant across a crowed Swinger Club.
I know its a bit silly but for me it feels very odd, almost making me re-evaluate the way I viewed this lady - i'm not judging (for god's sake I'm here as well !) but ....
anyway, be interested to hear your experiences,

I had a pm from someone who lives about 100 yards away from me a few months back. She obviously doesnt know it's me as I didnt have facial pics on the ad I had at the time.
It certainly made me look at her in a different light and I never took it any further either, just have a little smile to myself every time she passes the window or I see her at the bus stop.
Im fairly certain one of the lads from my pool team is a member on here somewhere, I wouldnt really look at hime in a different light though as he's always been a dirty b****** lol
I had / have a close encounter with a neighbour of mine, he and his family live 50 yards from my house....
He replied to my advert, and wanted an affair! but used his real email address, hence I knew who he was, but he also worked out who I was, through my reply to him...........
We haven't spoken since the email exchange, but I have an email from him saying he wants an affair behind his wife's back!!!
i think you should say hello it seem that a lot of people on here are embarrassed to say who they are but when you think about it were all here for the same thing fun and friendship i wouldn't like to think i new some one oh here and they wouldn't speak to me mad smile

I've never been to a munch but I wouldnt be embarrassed if I met someone I knew there, like you say they are there for the same reasons as you. Besides we are adults and there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
I'll start getting concerned the day people start recognising me from my ass pic. ;)

Reminds me of when we first went to La Chambre. Helen said, "God I hope we don't bump into anyone we know!" - seemed a bit like saying to teacher, "Sir, Tompkins had his eyes open during prayer." (well, that's what we told ourselves anyhoo :uhohsmile lol
Actually even though I've seen loads of faces, email addresses, the lot, I've never once recognised ANYONE from 'RL' on here confused dunno

but will be hard to find anyone else who lives on button moon biggrin
We've been recognised several times while out dogging and asked if we were Silk and Big G. I've had 'Silk' shouted out across a street as well and someone actually coming up to me and telling me that they knew me!!
A colleague spotted me in a munch photo and said to me at work the next day "I know what you were up to last saturday."
Addressing him by his posting name, I replied "Pity you weren't there, it was a great laugh."
He was gobsmacked that I'd sussed him out months earlier purely by his posts. rotflmao
On a more serious note, although I personally have no problem with being recognised, some people do need more privacy, so if you have spotted anyone on the site who you know in real life, do them a favour and keep it off the office grapevine. smile
We know 2 couples that have met relatives in clubs (is a predisposition to swinging genetic?) and one that has met a neighbour.
It's less of a problem meeting someone inside a club than it would be if they just happened to see you going through the door of a den of iniquity redface or happened on your recognisable photo while they were casually surfing.
It has never happened to me, but i do find it quite interesting and to a certain extent a little eroticthe though of finding a neighbour or a work collegue on the site....
it just goes to show ...
U CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER !! !!
biggrin
we was at chameleons a cpl years ago and my hubbies boss walked in with a woman, who was not his wife, hanging off his arm, now as u can imagine that was quite a bad situation for him to be in lol
Showing my age now, but in the olden days before the internet, i used to reply to ads in swingers magazines. I sent some photo's off and a letter and got the reply; sorry we cannot meet you as we only live a few hundred yards from you.
I still live in the same house, but never figured out who they were confused:
see my ad 294891
In my situation the tables were turned somewhat.....
One fine Saturday afternoon my mum popped by and wasnt her usual self when I asked her she said "Do you go to any "funny" clubs!!!(She doesnt know!)
"How do you mean?" came my reply stalling for a quicker answer lol
"You know, swinging?" I managed to diffuse this with a reasonable excuse as I prefer her not to know lol
It turns out that someone had seen me in a club, not local to home I hasten to add,and this info had got to her!!!How, I dont know, I havent pursued it,make me look well guilty eh??? :wary:
Nice of them eh???
they all swingers around where we live!
and they think we don't no! :giggle:
i am yet to meet up with them at a munch or a party! vie SH ....................and if i do i will shake there hand!
But not interested really with peeps that live close by to swing with.............to much gossip!.
And if things got out that we doi..... could damage business!
my closes mates no( that i socialize with!)........but i trust them!
A few have guessed.......... but thats only guessing and no proof
But i am going to a out door consent soon .........and a lot of them are camping over night like us!................ so shell be intereasting when the booze starts flowing! wink
Two of the single guys who turned up to the Teesside social meet last December recognised each other - they were cousins.
Mike.
I don't fear being recognised, BUT, there is one thing I fear on here!.
My parents are getting on a bit, but one never knows, would be an interesting christmas dinner trying to avoid that one!!.......
Hey dad, saw your post!, very amusing !
I won't post my pic on here as I live in a small town in the South West. Don't want my desires made public just yet!

I read a post today from someone I think I recognise too.......
He's a tall, self effacing, modest guy, about 30 from Herts, think he's called Johnny... spooky huh
rotflmao :rotflmao:
only rexognised one pic on here so far and refused to send a hi no matter how much crystal asked coz it was one of the younger ladies who used to work in the childrens hom i lived in when i was younger ..and i refused for the worst reason ..coz i didnt want to spoil my school boy crush lol
matt
I have no problems being recognised,i have my face on a couple of sites, but not for swinging.
I regularly go to BDSM clubs in scotland and know a fair few folk that go, last weekend i was shopping in Asda, and saw a guy that also goes, we exchanged looks and smiles but i never said a word as i dont know him to talk to, there was the element of "i know what you do on a saturday night" but that was a passing though.
If i met anyone that i normally talk to in a club, i wouldnt hesitate to say hello to them, but then again im not about to say "gawd that leather sure smelled good" to them!
I think it is all about what situation you are in, if you are in a club and someone you know arrives remember they are there to do the same as you... have some fun!

lolol LongHandle Yikes I've been sussed!!
Thanks for your feedback folks - been interesting reading and good to know I'm not the first to recognise someone! I'm definitely not going to let on that I know (for a start I'm not 100% only 95% certain) but anyway I do feel it would change the dynamic of our relationship which is fine just the way it is.
Never recognised anyone but boy would I like to bump into some of the hot older women that were about when I was younger.
lynx - whereabouts sw scotland are u then?
