Why is it when you open the bottle to have ONE glass it all ends up going?
Is it some law of the universe or do i just have a problem? lol

Royal, it's the first one, the laws of the universe!!!
you have to pour red wine to let it breath ......... then it all evaporates into thin air! apart from the one and a bit glasses of course!
Hence why I'm sat here at , dishing out my words of wisdom - I've only had a couple!!! The rest 'evaporated'!!
Missy - issuer of sage words of wisdom in the early hours of weekends! confused
i must be honest
and say i have a real weakness for a good bottle of borolo drinkies
or grey goose for that matter
The only cure I found for this natural phenomenon was to leave the bottle in Threshers.

Doesnt work sad I tried this but when I passed the next day they told me that somone else took it and the bottle still ended up empty lol
lol
The same happens when you take £10 out of the ATM for the car park - Where the other goes I have no idea.
The same problem can apply with good food.
Plim
We find the same evaporation problem occurs with white and rose wines too
tres bizarre dunno

Well if someones going to do it it might as well be me! Glad to see I'm not the only one though.
I'm currently enjoying a self filling glass of McGuigans Black Label Red. It just doesnt get any emptier even though I'm sure I'm drinking it.
Well I'm glad it isn't just me.
I can have a beer; I can even have a gin and tonic (though I normally choose not to lol).
However, it just isn't possible to have one glass of wine. I often intend to have just a glass, but I open the bottle and the next thing I know - most of it has gone. It seems to be much more prone to evaporation. I have found that different positions around the sitting room, and particularly the dining table seem to have a serious evaporation problem. Normally, wherever I happen to be sitting! redface
My doctor tells me that a glass of red wine a day is an excellent protection against all sorts of ailments and disorders - though I struggle to convince him that surely there's no such thing as too much protection!
Will
PS Vampanya - McGuigan's Black Label is lovely. I can also recommend Hardy's Crest red, which the supermarkets often have as a half price offer, and a bargain always tastes sooo much better (but also evaporates so much quicker :gigglesmile
You can get a wine glass that holds a full bottle. Then just the one glass is enough.
Personally I just sip now and then and it never seems to get any lower. Could be my other half topping it up every time he goes by.... still only one glass though wink

I have a wine glass that holds a full bottle but I find that it just encourages other bottles to join in. Results in a very thick head in the morning and promises to never do it again (until the next time).drinkies
The problem is, no matter how big the glass is, psychologically it's still just a glass of wine. This means that having a second glass (which one has to do) is only going to lead to disaster.
Will - and I speak from experience! drinkies

You have a problem!!!!
...........................Unless of course there's a 2nd bottle conveniently positioned!!!
Wine is made to be enjoyed so enjoy it regardless of whether it's one glass or 4 bottles. Currently enjoying finishing off the bottle of 2007 Black Stump I started a lunch drinkies
I'm going to test whether the same theory applies to a bottle of Cava this evening :lol2:
