I just saw this on BBC News.
A sad loss - I grew up with him in Vision on, Take Hart and other programmes. He inspired at least 2 if not 3 generations of children to be creative.
I imagine him making those huge pictures he used to do on school playgrounds with jumpers etc - only now he is using clouds.
:upset:
A truly sad day...not only a great artist but a kids TV presenter the way kids TV presenters SHOULD be.
RIP
I remember watching him after school snd then wanting paper and stuff to follow what he had just done!
The really sad part is that (once again) there is no-one to replace him sad
Very sad news indeed
A very sad loss indeed, I grew up with Tony Hart, well not literally of course lol ... one of my nicest memories was making the Hart Craft sets
I only passed my o level in art copying his stuff from the program sad

aww not that has upset me, very sad loss
That's sad news indeed, another piece of my youth gone to the grave
And poor Morph too. Wonder who'll take care of him now
I'm always in awe of people like him who could take a bit of card and some paint and make something beautiful. I can't even paint a wall, but I always watched 'Vision on' and 'Take Hart' and still imagine the music that accompanied 'The Gallery' whenever I think of dear ol' Tony.
RIP.
A great man and a great show. Loved to watch him, even though when I drew a horse it always looked like a cat!! RIP Tony.

How sad. What will happen to Morph now??
British children's TV has lost two of its giants in the last few weeks, first Oliver Postgate (Bagpuss, Ivor The Engine, The Clangers etc) and now Tony Hart.
Their huge contribution to the golden age of children's entertainment when everything was more honest and gentle has made them firm favourites with us all and their programmes and our memories of these great men will live on and on.
Another one from my childhood gone
A sad loss
This is the tune i remember as "The Gallery"
It's difficult to imagine Tony Hart being 83.
He always looked the same when he was presenting the various art programmes, for all those many years.
Biggest memories of him?
Morph (of course) and Vision On
