sorry no sympathy here.
another person who threw there lives away though joins a long list of many.
in the end not a very nice person ether.
No sympathy... They tried to make her go to rehab but she said no no no bolt
Sad when anyone dies - as a parent who has lost a child I have symapthy for her family.
Its up to the individual how they live thier life I dont really care that much if people want to harm themselves. Though with that said I dont have a lot of time for people who cant sort themsleves out, have been there so know what its all about. She wasent hurting anyone other than herself dunno so I dont have anything bad to say about her but then nothing that good either. Obviously a talented singer though not my normal cuppa tea she had a few songs I liked and in a small way its slightly sad that I dont get to see if I would have liked the next one. Never bothered reading the gutter press about her she was just one of those people that the more coverage she got the more I ignored it all.
R.I.P.
a great talent lost,we dont know what was going on in her head or her life, but her music brought meaning, maybe joy to many.i actually feel a loss, loved her music

The age isn't the dangerous similarity. I suspect it was the drugs/alcohol that was the dangerous similarity across all those deaths

And in Kurt's case, the shotgun!

She wasent hurting anyone other than herself

The bad thing is, in my humble opinion, she might well have been hurting people other than herself. The kids of today (and indeed the past) look up to these morons and try to emulate them.
With luck, her untimely death will serve as a reminder to others and prevent more poor unfortunate victims succumbing to the 'monster' within.

I agree GnV and was going to post something similar myself, you can only hope that others won`t emulate her behaviour.
When every one around you is trying their hardest to help you sort your life out and you are determined to self-destruct this is generally the outcome, so sorry not much sympathy from this camp for Amy, just sympathy for the people who tried to help her.
such a sad loss of life, what a shame that she couldnt be helped but there is only so much help you can give to someone with drink and drug problems !
she wasnt a very good role model for youngsters either
i feel sorry for her family and friends

People look up to The hardest kid in school, the best sports person in school and Im sure on some Council estates they look up to the crack dealer in his convertable Mercedes. Sad but true. Anyone can become famous at any time for a myriad of varying reasons. If people/kids then decide to look up to you there is not much you can do about that. Dont think Amy ever requested that people act the way she did dunno Its up to the parents to influence and guide the lives of kids. I had perfectly good parents and never looked up to any idols yet I did addiction for a few years. There are various reasons why people will but they always like to have an excuse, its cus Amy did it rolleyes
From what I've heard and seen there is no great loss to the world of music or fashion. But that is irrelevant.
To lose a family member or friend is always a sad thing. For that loss to be a direct result of that person's choices seems almost worse (is any death is worse than any other when it comes down to it?). But the fact is, she grew up in a world of knowledge and education - she knew that her early choices put her on a path to self-destruction, she knew that later choices kept her there. She knew - however buried that knowledge was - that her actions were hurting her family.
Yes, she was an addict - but it was because she chose to embark on actions that lead to addiction. She could not claim ignorance and to blame others (if she did) for 'influencing' her to do it - codswallop.
I can't summon any sympathy for her - she made her choices. I have far more for her family who must have watched her self-destruction with despairing, helpless horror. To see a child suffer, and to have all your efforts to help them end in failure is nothing short of dreadful.
A mixed up lady with a FAB voice.
Didn't like her style, didn't like her music, and not sure she was all that talented (though admittedly, not liking her music makes me biased). I won't mourn her death.
However, her family and her friends will, and for that reason I am not going to join the thousands all across the net today who are slagging her off for being an addict.
Yes, she may have had choices to get herself clean. It may be the waste of a (debatably) talented life. Another rich kid gone wrong. But still, I feel sympathy for her and for her family. So, for that reason, I am out.
Amy Winehouse...
Well all i can say is she is a gone from the world of shite she was in.
No death is good at all esp at that young age.
Well where ever she is now,may she be at peace
Just hope everyones prepared for the usual re-releases and repackaged albums etc

i really can't see the big deal
i was told in the ca forum that the harmless type of drugs she was using should be legalised

Good points, yoyu can also apply these to
Husbands/wives (told you he/she would end up killing you lol )
Smoking
Alcohol
Religion
Safe to say as kids some of our decision will piss our parents off but we will do it anyway be it smoking crack or marrying the wrong person.
I don't think anyone is in a position to judge Amy and her addictions.
My thoughts are with her family and friends. I hope she's found the peace she was searching for sad

I think I am in a position to judge her... and probably the courts, the local health authority, anyone who bought a ticket for the concert where she was "booed" of stage and anyone who has an impressionable child who thinks she is cool.
Importantly I don't care that she is dead, her life meant nothing to me and her cessation of existence does not impact upon me in anyway. However, I wouldn't wish her dead, and if I had the power to turn back time and show her where she would end up then I would gladly do so.
That does not displace the concept that she and people like her need to be judged, otherwise how can you determine whether the example that she set is one that should be followed or not.

As stated about 4 posts up many things we do may piss of our parents. You can only guide, kids will ultimately make thier own choices and its a 100% fact you wont agree with all of them.
for me...a talented artist...I have both CD albums.
But like so many artists, they seem to be tormented in the mind in some way as well. And this is not just modern day singers.....lets not forget Van Gogh etc etc...
I have no idea what was going on in Amy's or any others addicts head....but what I do say is " There but for grace of god, go I "
Rest in peace.
