RSGB - Ofcom Consultation (Amateur Radio)

To my fellow Hams (OR as Dawn calls us nerds)
Last week went to the local RSGB consultation evening on ofcoms proposals to change Amateur radio licencing, Now drafting my reply and wondered what my fellow hams thought of it.
I think a longer licening period would work say 5 years, but not a licence for life,
AND no WAY would I accept Degregulation in any form
I pass the mic for comments

Fair comment kat, and have done with many fellow hams around the country, but I would welcome the comments from fellow hams in here as well.
Ofcoms proposals are the biggset threat to amateur radio that has happened in this country and if left unchalleged pose threats to other users of the radio spectrum as well as us hams.

If it is so important - whynot discuss it on a ham radio site where the appropriate challenge can be arranged? confused
Surely anyone who has strong views about it will also be on there to challenge the issue, rather than on here.

Does this just relate to CB-radio type stuff or would this apply to the use of the public broadcasting on the analogue spectrum when the BBC switches over to digital?
