in order to make myself even more beautiful (is that possible i hear you asking................ confused ) lol
i bought myself one of those new types of mascara, you know - the ones where you brush on some white stuff, wait for it to dry and then put mascara on as normal over the supposed to make your lashes long and lush.
yeah, well it certainly makes them look bigger! evil
hmmmmmmmmm, i really paid to have white fecking blobs falling from my lashes to my cheeks! rolleyes
why would anyone chose to have black, white and grey streaked eyelashes? especially ones that stick to your lower lid whenever you blink!
aaarrrgggghhhhhhhhhh
think i would have been better investing in a pair of falsies! wink
what great new ideas have ended up costing you?
Lol - I have some of that mascara too!!!!!
It's OK so long as you manage not to blink till it's dried (about 20 mins it seems!)

You beat me to it wink
perhaps they should supply two match sticks in the packet!
I too bought some of that mascara a couple of months ago.....
It really is rubbish! I ended up with lashes about an inch thick as it had gone all globby in the drying process due to me needing to blink.
I don't wear much make-up or at all some days but it is sometimes nice to treat yourself to something expensive thinking it'll be the dogs bollocks. Then you find out you've just wasted a load of money on complete and utter crap!
I've done it loads of times in the past but I've finally found the sense not to do it anymore....... really is a waste of money, not to mention the disapointment when I turn out to look like a corpse that has been brought back to life!
I love this type of mascara for when I am out on the town....I suppose it depends what make you buy as mine is fast drying and looks great!
wink
I was thinking about getting that mascara so thanks to WBB for saving me nearly a tenner. I can barely manage with the normal kind without making it any harder for me.
My most recent waste of money was those curling tongs that you push and curl. Bloody useless (unless you only want to curl the bottom 3 inches of your hair). Waste of £25 for sure mad
VERY INTERESTING
At last we have women admitting they are wasting money on stupid items.
Its taken nearly 2006 years for that to come out lol
wink
phredd
Try Max Factor's 2000 calorie mascara, I've been using it for years, tried loads of others but keep coming back to this one !!
Anything less than for mascara has always ended up in the bin.
I have found that if you can self select it from a wall stand or it is hanging on a rack in a heat-sealed package when you go to but it - it will be sliding down your face in the jacuzzi mad

Yes I agree with this...unfortunately quality make up is always more expensive to buy but worth it in the end.

Call me a cheapskate but I don't entirely agree.
I use a well known cheap brand of waterproof mascara and it does the job perfectly....as with all the products I use.
Expensive isn't always better..... I admit sometimes it's nice to buy expensive products and they do what they say they will but for me it's the cheaper version every time!
biggrin
So can you recomend a good mascara thats not going to run because I hate mine when it does that, which is often rolleyes

yep! - and its cheap too! try Rimmel's Volume Flash (in the fushia pink casing) - fab for day/ work wear  but it is thick & takes some getting off if you dont use proper eye make-up remover.
Alternatively, ask Santa for a MAC in extreme black. Its never failed me yet - and definately a case of you get what you pay for! :inlove: - no running, no blobbing, no spiders, no flaking..... no money in ya purse either, but hey ho! wink

Whatever you do, do not use Rimmel Waterproof mascara! I normally tend to stick to Avon for my mascaras. They're fairly cheap at around £7 - £10 a throw, but I find they work well for me.
About a year ago I desperately needed some waterproof mascara and bought a Rimmel one to tide me over till I could get the one I prefer.
It went on nicely, lasted all day and certainly didn't run when it got wet . . . . BUT it took three days to clean it off :!:
It pulled half my lashes out when I tried to scrub it off with cleanser, it infected my eye lids because it kept rubbing into little balls which felt like grit and I swear it felt like it had been arc welded on! Never again would I touch that stuff with a barge pole evil

I just got very brave and bought Maybelline Intense XXXL,
I have very sensitive eyes and although they do a waterproof one I've tried the ordinary one coz i wasn't sure how much rubbing it'd take to get it off.
Verdict?????
First time I've tried one of these white then black ones......bloody fantastic
little or no irritation
Comes off like a dream
Boots have it on special right now, only about
For the first time I LOVE my eyelashes biggrin
have any of you ladies tried the steadler permalash ultra?
99p from office world

Wow! Super idea! Then when our lashes have fallen out from using crap mascara, we can simply draw them back on again, like old ladies do with their eyebrows - shave them off and then draw them back on again  :silly:
What's all that about? dunno blink

oh meaty do you know nothing about make up...thats only useful as eyeliner..not mascara !!
The trick with those dual mascaras, is not to put too much of the base coat on . Your lashes shouldn't look totally white like the misleading ads. Just one coat, and then a coat of the black.
I used them all the time, but admit the Loreal and Bourjois original are the best. The others tend to go clumpy.
If you have the reciept, you can return it to the shop you bought it at. If they argue, tell them you 'react' to it and get styes. If you either don't have the reciept, or the shop you bought it at is a small local one, then write to the company and tell them you love all their other products, but this one isn't doing it for you . They will 99% of the time either refund you, or send you vouchers.
I do it with any product I don't find to be 100% with no problem.
Awwwwwww the things you ladies go through to look lovely.
Would we do similar for the ladies chaps????
i would, but then i need embelishment.

Nope, it's not Rimmel - I've had the same problem with that before....it's awful stuff.
Ok, I'm going to admit to being a complete and utter cheapskate but I use Collection 2000 make-up mostly. I find all their products cheap and they do what they say they will.
Other than that I use Avon or a mix of other brands but it's mostly Collection 2000.
smile
Have you tried Great Lash, in the pink and green tube? It's renowned as the most purchased top mascara in the world, and only a fiver. Don't bother with the new 'ultra black' as it gets cloggy, but regular black is brilliant!
I hate putting mascara on, it's a nuisance and I always sneeze at the wrong moment but I'm absolutely useless with false lashes so I've very recently had eyelash extensions - no need for mascara now!!
It's early days but I quite like them biggrin
I'm crap with Mascara ... need my glasses on to see that close  and despite waiting for ever I stick blink and get lash marks (ooer) somewhere!
I'm ever worse with that liquid eyeliner ... whose flucking idea was that may as well use that permanent maker pen earlier because I'll be damned if I can get a thin subtle line with it!

Burnie's got it right, I use lorearl's double extention and their shocking double ender!
just go out and forget to put on the second coat
