I have just been listening to a whole list of music and thought……….
What in people's own opinions are the saddest songs ever made, and I don't mean 'Cheeky Girls' sad, I mean 'poignant' sad.
In my opinion ………….
Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton
Everybody Hurts - REM
Dance with my father - Luther Vandross
The Living Years - Mike and the Mechanics
are very sad, especialy when it's relevant to you. Anyone else?
I am sure I have got some, but cannot think of any at the moment.....
Back to this later if I remember!!
Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls (From City of Angels)
Gorecki - Lamb (was used in a Torchwood episode but is a hell of a song in its own right)
Eric Clapton - tears in heaven.

Only 1 I can think of just now is

I never listen to lyrics, but the music itself can make me teary eyed.
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
(if I'm in the right frame of Mind)
Mo Foster - Jaco
(it's all about a depressive bass player and Mo's hit the mood and the feelings exactly right).
And for the track I will always curse Live Aid for as I cannot listen to it any more without blubbering
Cars - Drive
Luther Vandross - Dance with my father....I defy anyone who has lost their dad, that listens to that, not to end up blubbing.....and if you havent heard it, find it and listen to it....you will get goosebumps when you hear it.
Everbody Hurts - REM
Without you - Nilson
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler version
"The Parting Glass" by the Wailing Jennys. A 3piece female Canadian folk band. They sing it A Cappella. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. Doesn't last very long. Just 2 verses.

Johnny Cash - Thing called Love
