I think that it's great that we can buy 3 bottles of drinkable vino for £10 or buy 3 cases of beer/cider/lager for £18 to £20
I do think however that this is not going to be the case for very much longer :-( Our freedom to purchase is to be curtailed, yet again, by limiting the supermarkets in how they sell alcohol. I really begrudge this. I know that there are problems with drink abuse though luckily i am not party to them. Why should I have to suffer though?
I think the world and its dog needs to take a good long hard look at itself and decide whether it really wants all its freedoms taken away and their every waking moment looked at watched and guided (controlled)
This is just one of many gripes I know but its the one I'm pissy with at the moment.
Even scarier are the +40,000 cctv cameras watching you pick your nose from the moment you get off the train until you walk through the door of the massage parlour

Agreed. We all may as well be security tagged as well. Apparently Britain is the most "watched" country in the world. Well doesn't that just make you feel so good about things :-(

If it wasn't for all those in society who (misbehave) there would not be the need for camera’s or tagging but you have to admit it does help to catch many of those that do.
I sort of agree tigernlynx but why should the masses suffer for the few, we are becoming less and less of a free society. Ben Elton has written a book called "Blind faith" where the law of the land dictates every single thing that is done, right down to webcam's, blogs etc and if you don't conform and have your own free will you are executed, now I know that is a little extreme but how long before we get there???
Less than 10 years ago we all didn't have p.c's, laptops, mobile phones etc, where next??
All people are asking is the right to decide if we can buy drink and in some cases ciggerettes I am beginning to feel like a criminal myself, everything will served from behind a counter in brown paper bags,as not to upset others because Dave enjoys a fag and I enjoy a glass of wine or 3 on a friday night have a hard week at work.
Sorry to moan, time for a change me thinks

I think everyone knows my feelings on the nanny state, I've gone on about it ad infinitum in previous posts but once more it rears its ugly head.
Our precious leaders as usual are using the oldest maxim in history to keep its populace under control
Divide and Rule
wind up the anti smokers against the smokers
the tea totalers against the drinkers
the pedestrian against to motorists
the workers against the unemployed
the rich against the poor
town folk against country folk
ecologists against industrialists
then throw in HUGE amounts of unsubstantiated so called facts and figures about crime, health, law n order, the environment blah blah blah, just enough to scare the Green Welly brigade into their local voting booth so they can continue to spread all their lovely spying toys further and further into our society and we of course, believing all the bull shit they throw at us, blindly follow the piper like a bunch of sheep spouting the very platitudes we've been fed, “oh, it makes us feel safer” BAAAAAHHHH
Bollocks, it makes us lambs to the slaughter.
I personally have not had a drink for quite some time now, and won't be for the foreseeable future. I have however been know to partake and baulk at the fact that our government can blithely step in to interfere with local and national commerce to tell our shop keepers and supermarkets how much they should charge for a product as a means of further controlling the behavior of its population.
It's disgraceful if you ask me.
One day in the not too distant future, as we shuffle slowly towards the showers watched by steely eyed armed security, we will be able to rejoice in the fact that once the de-lousing is completed fleets of special trains will be waiting to take us to a perfect new Eden in the east...

To be quite honest, as much as I am pro privacy and all, without the dense CCTV network, I'd not feel safe a single moment in London. CCTV doesn't make crime go away but it makes the covered areas just a tad more secure.
I'd be less worried about CCTV and more worried about that thing you carry about in your pocket or handbag...
Your mobile phone gives away more secrets and information about you than CCTV will ever be able to obtain.
I'm still waiting for someone to start marketing Soylent Green rolleyes

In that case you should limit your nose picking to the privacy of your own home. I'm happy not to watch! lol

Be grateful that they can pick their nose. I have to make do with the one I got at birth.
